"I-..uh," She said a little taken aback to be asked, "I was more of a speak when spoken to sort of kid. And then I came here and accidently befriended a lot of Gryffindor's and started talking more, I suppose."

"'Accidentally befriended'?" I ask, grinning slightly. "Trying to be enemies or what?"

She laughed, "No, I just never assumed I'd be friends with them. It was always Gryffindor blood traitor this, Gryffindor blood traitor that, so I always assumed I'd kind of avoid them. But...well, Nathan, Jack and Mill's were very friendly, it was impossible to ignore them."

"Ah," I nod, smiling slightly. "Yes... funny how all the people you thought weren't worth your time turn out to be the ones worth the most, isn't it?" I ask, then realize I'm imposing my own life on hers again. "sometimes, anyway," I shrug.

"No, that's usually how it seems," She nodded, "Hate to think what it'd be like if...well, things didn't work out how they did."

"If you hung around with Slytherins and continued to think blood traitors were beneath you?" I suggest, then shake my head. "It probably wouldn't be pretty."

"No, not at all. Some pure blood bitch with my head so far up my ass I couldn't see what was in front of me, probably," She laughed lightly, then shrugged a little, "That was slightly graphic."

"Only a little," I laugh. "Or a lot...." I shake my head. "Very nice image there. But it's funny how much your house can shape you almost as much as you shape which one you get put in."

"Sorry," She laughed slightly, then nodded, "Funny or slightly messed up?"
Post by Fitzy Patricks on Nov 19, 2007 21:55:18 GMT
I shrug. "Well, not necessarily messed up. Sometimes, yes...." I shrug again and shake my head. "Sorry, I'm thinking of specifics again and generalizing them. That kid who... wound up dead because he was an idiot. He should've been a ravenclaw... and then he'd still be alive." I shrug yet again, wondering why I have to keep bringing that up. You feel confessional far too often lately.

"Oh," She said softly, not sure what else to say, "There's not much point...dwelling on what could have been...is there?"
Post by Fitzy Patricks on Nov 19, 2007 22:03:49 GMT
"Yeah, probably true," I nod. "I need to stop dwelling on a lot of things, I guess. But then again you can't just write them off without making amends," I add almost before I've finished the first sentence. I shake my head. "Never mind... I just need to stop talking altogether."
Post by Rose Eden on Nov 20, 2007 21:16:55 GMT
"No, I wouldn't stop talking if I were you. You're quite adept at conversation really," She told him, shrugging lightly, "And it's only fair to rant if you want."

I shake my head. "No, I've done enough of that, I think. Really not something I should force others to listen to so much." I shrug, then laugh slightly and shake my head again. "And I never thought I'd ever be adept at conversation.... Thank you."

She laughed slightly, "I think you are. You can articulate, which is more than some, at least."

"If you say so," I shrug. "Don't know where I got the practice, but all right then." I pause. "So you hung out with a bunch of Gryffindors back in school? That can't have made you too popular in the common room."
Post by Rose Eden on Nov 21, 2007 21:39:57 GMT
"Hung out with Slytherin's too. Well, Slytherin anyway. Scott. He wasn't too popular in the common room, being best friends with a Gryffindor as well. So, we got by, I guess," She shrugged a little, "Call me presumptious, but you don't seem like someone who'd be too popular in the common room either."
Post by Fitzy Patricks on Nov 21, 2007 22:02:16 GMT
I nod, then laugh. "No, not at all. Hating and or hexing everyone on sight would tend to lower your popularity a bit." I grin, shaking my head. "That's probably not terrifically funny, actually," I say upon reflection, now frowning slightly.
Post by Rose Eden on Nov 22, 2007 21:38:58 GMT
"Uhm...I'm sure it's possibly funny?" She suggested, frowning ever so slightly.

Post by Fitzy Patricks on Nov 22, 2007 21:52:28 GMT
I nod. "Well... the question was funny, because the answer was so... I don't know." I shrug. "But the fact that most of my House and I hate each other is probably not terribly funny. Not really. And the fact that most other people I ever encountered probably hate me... that's not funny either." I shrug again.

"I don't see why...no, I'm sorry but I sort of see why some people might hate you. The whole opinionated thing...sure it doesn't wash too well with some people around here."
Post by Fitzy Patricks on Nov 23, 2007 21:34:12 GMT
I laugh slightly. "No, probably not... although I would like you to know that I've got enough sense not to give my true opinions in the common room - unlike Jake, the idiot." I shake my head. "I think it's mostly the hexing thing, actually. Not quite the best way to meet people."
Post by Rose Eden on Nov 23, 2007 21:43:10 GMT
"Oh..." She shakes her head, "No, hexing doesn't generally make friends. You have a very valid point there."

"Well, I'd hopefully have figured it out by now," I say, smiling wryly.

"Oh, me too," I nod, then pause. "Or... well, actually, if I was that dense I probably wouldn't be too worried." I pause again. "Uh... so. You like Quidditch?" I shrug.
Post by Rose Eden on Nov 23, 2007 21:58:04 GMT
She laughed slightly, then shrugged, "I like watching quidditch, but I can't fly to save my life. Do you?"
Post by Fitzy Patricks on Nov 23, 2007 22:01:18 GMT
"Like Quidditch? Pretty well," I shrug, then grin slightly. "I'm a fairly decent Seeker, actually. Very single-minded. The only problem with that is... I run into things a lot. How can flying itself be hard though?"
Post by Rose Eden on Nov 30, 2007 14:45:27 GMT
"Do you play for the team or just...for the sake of playing?" She asked, then smiled wryly, "I'm terrified of heights. Flying is hard if you're clinging to the broom for dear life a couple of feet from the ground."
Post by Fitzy Patricks on Nov 30, 2007 19:19:22 GMT
I laugh. "Yes, I guess it would be.... And no, definitely not for the team. The running-into-teammates problem would probably hve ruled that out even if I'd ever bothered to try out."
