I rest my head lightly next to hers for a moment as acknowledgment as I don't want to risk moving my arm round her while holding the baby.

Your a mum. My stomach twist unpleasntly but it slowly melts away as Alex lets out a small baby laugh. I can't stop the smile tugging at my lips.
