Help?

[Angel Simons]

Angel knocked on Gideon's door lightly. She hated intruding but Gideon was one of the only people she knew. She was clutching the letter that had arrived close to her chest and the tears were streaming down her face even faster. She had already tried Bella's house but she wasn't there. Gideon was the only person left that she could talk to.

[Gideon Prewett]

"Fuck." I mutter, throwing the empty pill bottle across the room. I needed painkillers.
I'd run out.
You don't need them just for the pain though, do you Gid?
"Shut up." I tell myself.
Then hear the door being knocked on.
I sigh, and make towards it, wading through the junk of my appartment, trying to open the door, but failing.
It needed to be kicked, and I couldn't really do that.
I wrench the door again and the handle comes free in my hand.
I throw it across the room and use my wand to open the door.
To see Angel standing there, tears streaming down her face. "Hey Angel, what's the matter?"

[Angel Simons]

"You're not busy are you? I'm sorry to come here but..." Angel started but couldn't finish. She just thrust the letter into his hands. It read:
'Dear Miss Simons,
I am sorry to inform you on the death of your Aunt and Uncle. They were trapped in a house fire and didn't make it. Everything in the house has been destroyed, including their wills. This means you will be left with nothing, not even the house. Their funerals will not be held as they did not specify who would organise it.

[Gideon Prewett]

I read through the letter, "Oh Geez, Angel, I'm sorry. Here, come in, take a seat. I'll get you something to drink."
I usher inside and shove some of the piles of clothes off the sofa so she can sit down.

[Angel Simons]

"Thank you. I really am sorry to come here, but you're one of the only people I know," Angel said, sitting down.

[Gideon Prewett]

"It's fine, it's fine." I say, "You want a firewhiskey or something? I think I have pumpkin juice as well, but I wouldn't drink the water in here."

[Angel Simons]

"Anything is fine thanks," Angel said, tears still running down her face.

[Gideon Prewett]

I got her a firewhiskey out and slammed it downwards on the table to knock the bottle cap off, then handed it to her and sat next to her on the couch, not really sure what to say.
"Want a hug?"

[Angel Simons]

"I don't really know what I want anymore. I'm going to have to live in an orphanage," Angel sobbed.

[Gideon Prewett]

"No, you won't. You won't. Come stay with me. If you don't mind the roaches that is. But they're hiding. And Isa might be coming to stay too. But you can come stay here until you're of age if you want."

[Angel Simons]

"No. I refuse! I couldn't stay in your house, I hardly know you. Thanks for the offer though," Angel says, trying to smile.

[Gideon Prewett]

"It's fine. I know not many people would want to stay here. But I hate the thought of you in an orphanage. You can come here whenever you like."

[Angel Simons]

"I'll be fine in a orphanage. I really thank you for doing this. Everything is gone, even the pictures. What am I going to do about money? Oh god!" Angel sobs. Everything is just so confusing right now for her. "I didn't disturb you or anything did I?" She asked inbetween sobs.

[Gideon Prewett]

"No, I wasn't doing anything. If you need me to lend you a bit of money, that's fine. I can help you get a job, too, if you want. Just say the word and I'll help any way I can."

[Angel Simons]

"No. I need to manage, you've helped enough by letting me come here anyway," Angel said.

[Gideon Prewett]

"Actually, I'd say I was setting you back by letting you come here." I say, looking around at the mounds of dirty clothes and firewhiskey bottles and empty pill bottles. "Probably diseased this place. And there's no shame in asking for help."

[Angel Simons]

"I know, but I'd feel guilty. You're place is fine. I've seen worse, trust me," Angel smiled.

[Gideon Prewett]

"Well, if you ever need anything, you know where to find me. Oop, you know you said you don't like roaches? I'd lift your legs up right about now and look in the opposite direction." I say, as Gertrude scuttles past followed by Fabian Jr, and the other so far nameless babies. "Where's Melvin, Gerty? Shouldn't he be helping you out? Be off with ye, I've got another one who doesn't like your kind here. Go on," I guide her away with my foot and her and the other babies carry on to the bathroom where they'd made their home.

[Angel Simons]

Angel did as she was told and tried not to look at the roaches. She couldn't help but notice one of the baby ones though. "You know, the baby ones are quite sweet," she said. "I really can't thank you enough for doing this, you've been a real help."

[Gideon Prewett]

"I try my best." I smile wryly. "And the babies are quite sweet actually. I named one of the Fabian Jr. I haven't told him that yet, of course." I chuckle. "I'm trying to get rid of them to people as pets."

[Angel Simons]

"Have you gotten rid of any yet?" Angel asked.

[Gideon Prewett]

"I think James is taking one. I tried to convince other James and his friend Jason but they want to feed them to their pet snake. Isa's not interested, she think they're weird. So about one. I still have 6 more to get rid of. Know anyone who might want one?" I ask, trying to keep her mind off everything.

[Angel Simons]

"I don't exactly know many people," Angel smiled, forgetting the reason she came here. "Look I should probably leave now and let you have your house back. Thanks for letting me come here." She stood up, hugged him and, without meaning to, kissed him lightly. When she realised what she'd done she quickly ran to the door, opened it and slammed it shut as she ran out.

I blink confusedly, a minute, then sit down heavily.
