I manage to keep my mind blank as i close my eyes, using Gids' shoulder as a pillow.
It's actually working. I think to myself, glad that soon i'd finally be able to sleep.

I slow my breathing right down, so it's even, as Fay had told me to do when trying to get to sleep.

If i kept my mind busy on simple things, then i wouldn't have to think about the more drastic things.
four...five...six That's right, heavy eyes, slower breathing.

She falls asleep eventually.
I carry on thinking of nothing, eyes heavier, so I close them again.

Blank, dark, nothing.
Except for two small lights in the distance.
Somewhere in the back of my mind i know i'm dreaming, but i don't really realise that fully.
The two lights change into two people.
I recognise the faces with dread.
Yes, of course it just had to be Gideon and Ricky.....

I look up and suddenly they're both hanging.
One on each side of the building before me.
It was what Fabian had told me to imagine a few days ago.
It was dark and raining, somewhere in my mind i knew i could only save one.
I looked back and forth between the two.
But suddenly they both fall, i'd spent too long trying to choose and now it was too late.
"Gid!" Is all i manage to shout before they both hit the floor.
I jerk awake, realising i'd shouted the name outloud, not just in my dream.
