Slightly drunk

[Gideon Prewett]

I sat slumped on the moth-eaten couch in my crummy appartment, staring out of the window at the scrap yard outside, reflecting what a wonderful neighbourhood this was to live in as someone starts screaming again down the hall.
I drop the my empty bottle of firewhiskey to the floor.
I was slightly drunk.
That stage between being sober and the hsyterical happiness stage. The moody stage.
I take another bottle and bang it on the desk to force the bottlecap off, as was a bad habit of mine, then take a swig from that.
Stupid Order.
Stupid death eaters.
Stupid being dead.
Stupid not being dead anymore.
Stupid everything.

[hoot]

"hello brother." i say apparateing in a sitting next to him. but then i see the firewisky. "what happened?" i ask him

[Gideon Prewett]

"Nothing happened. Why would you think anything happened?" I say, slurring my words slightly.

[hoot]

"well your drinking and you seem out of it." i say. "gid come on, mollys done it. how about you and i try and let up on the firewisky?" i ask

[Gideon Prewett]

"Because I don't want to. You can do whatever you want. I don't want to." I say, slamming the bottle cap off another bottle.

[hoot]

"well drink up or sober up so your out of this moody stage." i sigh sitting back and get myself a firewisky. "i need a drink anyways." i say sioftly and take a swig.

[Gideon Prewett]

"What's up with you?" I say, downing my bottle near enough in one.

[hoot]

"amalia." i say and take another drink. "she's half werewolf. she's gonna get sick around every full moon. she won't transform, but get real sick. it's not fair. she's just a little baby, she shouldn't have to suffer like that." i say with a bit of anger, not a gideon but at the world for letting this happen to her.

[Gideon Prewett]

My face softens slightly and I put my empty bottle down with less force than I had last time. "She'll cope. If she's anything like her father, she'll cope. She shouldn't have to, but she will." I say gently.

[hoot]

"i don't want her to cope. like you said she has to though. my baby girl's done nothing wrong to have this put on her. my baby girl is gonna be in pain when she shouldn't have to." i say and take another drink.

[Gideon Prewett]

"No one should. But it's just a bit of bad luck, and it'll only make all of you stronger when you get through this in one piece." I smack another bottle down on the table, knocking the cap off and taking a swig.

[hoot]

"i guess. but i don't want her to be like molly." i sigh, "i love molly to death, but molly always kept things in. she was always one to tell herself be strong or nothing. then when she did let somethings out it was horrible. there were times i could hear her crying at night for hours on end. i don't want amalia to be like that."

[Gideon Prewett]

"She won't be. We'll make sure she won't be." I say sadly, thinking miserably of how Molly had used to do that, and probably still did.

[hoot]

"thanks gid." i say "i can't believe how molly got that one day though when you first came back. her hands.." i sigh "maybe this arthur gy can help her. cos something has to be done soon or it might kill molly." i say honestly, "or her baby. which will just make her worse off."

[Gideon Prewett]

"But you know what she's like. If we tried to help her-...she'd just push us away. Like normal. She doesn't accept help. Like you said, the 'be strong or nothing' mentality."

[hoot]

"she's our baby sister. it's worth a try, and maybe it might knock some sense in her." i say, but know what he's saying is most likely right. "maybe we can talk to arthur. he might be ale to help her." i think aloud

[Gideon Prewett]

"And he'd try so hard to help her." I agree. "And he might listen to us after the fork-eyes-limb-and-bone-breaking talk you gave him."

[hoot]

i chuckle softly and nod my head. "maybe." i laugh, "but he didn't seem all that intimidated(sp?) when i gave it to him. there was no look of fear in his eye that i normally get from the guy i give the talk to." i laugh

"Maybe it means he's the right guy."

[hoot]

i nod. "he is." i sigh. "that's the one we're supposed to be worried about now. when she's younger the wrong guy, bt now we worry about the right guy." i chuckle softly. "i'm glad she's hapy though." i admit, "just don't like him."

[Gideon Prewett]

"Well, you're not the one who has to marry him, so you'll do fine." I chuckle slightly, leaning back on the couch. "How are things with you and your-...Hannah, isn't it? I met her the other day."

[hoot]

i smile at her name. "great." i grin. "i'm going to be there for her baby like a dad and she's going to be there for amalia like a mum. i think that she's the one that different from all the rest. i've only known her for a few days, but i think she is." i smile.

[Gideon Prewett]

"Aww...my big brother's all grown up." I smile, shoving him lightly.

[hoot]

"gid, lets not go that far." i laugh. "you know i'll never grow up."

[Gideon Prewett]

"True." I grin. "Well, you're more grown than me. With your own family, what's next? A stable job?"

[hoot]

"i'm gonna have to eventually," i say then remeber another reason i don't like arthur. "weasley doesn't even have a job. i had to lend molly some money just so she could get some food for bill the other day." i say

[Gideon Prewett]

"He'll get one. He's only a kid. So's Molly. Give them a chance to find their feet. Hell, I still haven't found mine."

[hoot]

"yes but you don't have a kid and one on the way do you?"

[Gideon Prewett]

"I might do-..." I say, looking round shiftily. "But I don't. You're right. Give the poor guy a chance, Fay. We can always help out."
