Draven walked up the stairs, not really sure where he was going at the moment. It was one of those impulse walks he took. The staircase moved as he continued to walk upward. Once the steps had stopped and locked in place, Drave turned to the left and attempted to keep walking, when all of a sudden he shoulder-rammed into somebody.
Whipping around, Draven automatically said his apologies, "Sorry, sorry. My bad." He looked up to see an oddly familiar face...

Alicia was getting to know her way around Hogwarts and decided that it was time to check out the moving staircases. Don't zone out, not a good idea. She thought to herself, remembering the conversation she'd had with Riley about them. She was too busy paying attention to the stairs when her shoulder collided with someone elses.
She heard their apologies and turned to look at who it was, the voice sounding oddly familiar. Her eyes connected with the boy whom she'd collided with and was at a bit of a loss at words. Draven...? Ali questioned in her head.

His eyes went wide as the locked with another's. Drave's gaze landed on no one other than the girl standing before him. "A-Alicia?" He questioned aloud, scruntinizing her up and down. Draven blinked a few times to make sure she was actually standing in front of him. IT had been years since he had seen or heard from his cousin.
'My god how she grew up!' He thought to himself, chuckling in his head.

Ali bit her lip softly as a faint smile arose on her face. She hadn't been sure that it was him until he said her name. She mearly nodded her head yes, confirming to him that it was her. "Drave...w-what are you...doing here?" She said stumbling a bit on her words. Alicia went to move forward towards him but it was like she was frozen in her spot, she couldn't believe he was standing in front of her.

Drave nodded his head at her, as if confirming it was in fact, him. "I-I go to school here..." He chuckled nervously, sputtering out the words. It wansn't that he was nervous about seeing her, he was just in such shock. Slowly, he pulled her into a small hug, "My gosh.. it's been... Forever." He commented.

Alicia just stood there for a moment before the after shock cleared and it clicked with her that he was really there. She hugged him back, she was so happy to see him. "I never would have thought that I'd ever see you again..." Ali trailed off. "It has been a long time."

"Tell me about it!" Draven cried, still in shock that it was actually her. He was extremely excited to see her again. "My gosh! Last time I saw you we were just little kids! What have you been up to these past years?" Drave asked her, wanting to know all about her travels.

"Draven so much has happeed and I've been to so many different places the past 4-5 years I couldn't even begin to tell you." Ali explained best she could to him, as vague as it was. She wondered to herself if he knew anything about why she'd left in the first place all those years ago. "Tell me about you! I've missed you."

"Well goodness, I would imagine so!" He laughed, nodding his head. Considering he hadn't seen her in so long, he figured a lot would have been going on with her. There was something about the way she said it that made him sense a hidden meaning. Drave shrugged if off for the time being, however. "Hah, well not much has been going on with me, believe it or not. Chillaxing, you know the story."

"You, not up to anything? Yeah that is a bit hard to believe." She chuckled lightly and then fell silent for a moment, her mind not leaving her alone as the wonder kept on about if he knew anything about why she left years ago. After a few moments had passed she looked up at him, "Drave...do you know anything about why I left?" She asked him, speaking in a bit of a hushed tone.

He chuckled under his breath, nodding. Unfortunately, his life hadn't been very exciting since they had last been in touch. Drave walked a few feet away, toward a little bench. Patting the empty space next to him, he motioned for her to come sit as well. "Nope, last I heard you were hangin' with your folks and your brother." He shrugged. Draven didn't remember either her parent's or brother's name. It had been that long since they talked.

Alicia went over to where Draven was and took a seat next to him on the bench. She listened to what he had said about the last thing he'd heard and shuddered. Ali hated thinking about her parents or brother for that matter, she didn't care if she ever saw them again. The memories of the night she had packed up and left gave her an uneasy feeling and she didn't really like to talk about it but knew that she had to tell Drave.
"Wow...it really has been a while since we've been in touch." She commented before getting into telling him about what had happened.

It was all in her presence; something was wrong. Really wrong. A frown automatically made itself present upon Draven's face. He thought he was being a little nosy at first, but definitely not anymore. If something wasn't right, something big, it wasn't nosy at all to ask what it was. Drave was smart enough to know that much. As much as Draven hated himself for not talking to her for so long, it was partially both their faults. Hers for not giving him contact information, and Draven's for not bothering to ask for it.
"What's wrong." He blurted out, his tone somewhat harsh, as if to say 'whatever it is, i'm gonna help you out, even if it kills me.'

Ali knew that she should have kept in contact with Drave over the years, but also knew that it was completely her fault. She knew she could count on him and that he'd always be there for her and still couldn't quite figure out why she'd shut herself out from him when she'd left. Right now, Alicia was just happy to have him here now, finally she had someone to tell after keeping something so big bottled up for so long.
"Well, lets start with you knowing that I haven't spoke to my parents since I was about thirteen and haven't spoke to my brother since I was about fifteen." She started out.

Draven nodded his head, listening intently. "Okay..." He trailed, waiting for her to continue. Obviously, he didn't bother to ask why this was. Already, he had a feeling he would know soon enough. It was odd though, her not speaking to her brother for that long. Drave always knew them to be so close, nearly inseperable, last time he had seen them.
"Go on." He urged her, not wanting to sound too pushy though. All he wanted was her to be able to tell him whatever she needed to tell him.

Alicia took a breath and bit her lip before continuing. "Well, my parents were drunks and they didn't take care of me or Rylan; they abused us." Ali said quietly, swallowing hard. "So after we'd become a little bit more of age, we left and went to live with our other aunt and uncle..." She trailed off. "Me and my brother were so close, we had always promised eachother that we would look out for one another, but one night, that all changed."
The more Alicia went on explaining, the more the images in flashed through her head, harshly reminding her of everything. She bit back her frustration and hurt and went on. "He didn't come home one night, and I knew that wasn't like him so I snuck out and went looking for him. Not finding him anywhere, I went to the last place I never thought he'd be and found him with some of his buddies, drunk." She told him, biting her lip as she found that hard to say and knowing the next part was going to be even harder.

All of his attention was focused on Alicia. This was of dyer importance, and he for certain knew that. Draven wouldn't be able to help her out with anything until he had hear the whole story, of course. But right now, the best thing for him to do was to listen. His eyes widened at her words, of their parents being alcoholics and abusive nonetheless. He had always remembered them to be sweet, caring people. Apparently a lot of things had changed around since he had last spoken with her.
'What sense does that make if he was drunk when his parents were alcoholics?' Draven asked himself, furrowing his brows. Nodding his head, he nudged her; a gesture that meant to continue. There would be plenty of time for questions later. Letting her finish the story would be a good place to start. If he did have any questions, which by now he could think of about a thousand, they might just get answered in the rest of the tale.

She looked at Draven as he encouraged her that it was okay to go on. Ali had to, he needed to know the rest of the story. "When I confronted him about what the hell he was doing and how he could do that after the way our parents were, his buddies stared to get involved. They were yelling at me to loosen up and have a good time and one of them grabbed me." She said, shutting her eyes tight for a moment then opening them again as she relived it in her head.
"They took advantage of me Draven, and Rylan just stood there and laughed." She said, not being able to flat out say that they raped her. "He was so smashed to even know or stop what they were doing to me. I just...I couldn't face him after that. I got away and I went and snuck back up into my room, packed my stuff and left." Ali finished, taking a deep breath and wiping at her eyes. She wasn't going to cry over that again.

He didn't know what emotion was showing on his face at the moment. But Draven could feel a whole blurr of feelings welling up inside of him. Horror, shock, anger, all of it was pushed to a pit deep inside of his stomach. Drave noticed how much it pained her to speak of this. Putting a comforting arm around his cousin, he hugged her tightly, "Go on Ali, it'll feel better to get it all out." He offered, hoping he wasn't going to say anything that would upset her further. That was the last thing he wanted to do at the moment.
Drave heard the last bit of her story. So many things didn't make sense to him, even though she had explained it all perfectly. "Why Alicia, why would he do that to you?!" His anger building. Right now he had to control his temper, feeling like he wanted to punch a wall. Rylan was such a good kid. Those two had always gotten along. And Draven didn't see any reason for the events that had gone on to happen.

Ali hugged Drave and shrugged slightly. She could tell that he felt anger and a lot of other things as a reaction to what she had just explained to him. "I don't know. It hurt me so much to see him standing there and not doing anything about what was happening. We were so close and I don't know why he went out and did what he did that night and I probably never will." She sighed.
Alicia wasn't one to cry, but talking about Rylan hit close to home with her. She hated him so much for what he did and there was so much she didn't understand but apart of her missed him; the old him she knew before that night. A lone tear slid down her cheek and she quickly wiped it away.

Draven kept her in a tight embrace, arms till slung around her shoulders. "Hun, what do you think would have happened if you did confront him about it?" He asked her solemnly, contemplating if that was maybe the best question to ask her. Drave could understand Ry being too intoxicated to do anything... but still couldn't understand why he was like that to begin with. Something just didn't add up there. Hopefully they'd find some way to straighten it out, though.
Drave brought a tissue out of his pocket, handing it to his cousin. Watching her cry really upset him inside. He hated seeing nearly anybody cry for just about any reason. But he almost wanted to cry with her, for her. What had happened to her was so... horrible, he couldn't even begin to comprehend it.

Ali thought for a moment, she honestly had no idea what would have happened. That night, nothing was on her mind but leaving and just getting away from Ry and the place it happened. She imagined that if she would have confronted her brother about it, she wouldn't have gotten very far with him considering he was drunk out of his mind.
"I...I don't know. I can imagine it still probably wouldn't have went well, and I still probably would have left." Alicia admitted. She held back anymore tears she had building behind her eyes, she refused to let anymore be shed over Ry. She took the tissue from Drave and swiftly wiped her cheeks. "Should I of waited and confronted him?" Ali asked her cousin, she knew even if she should have, she wouldn't of, but wanted to know Drave's opinion anyway.
