Explosion

[Hayley McMicken]

Like a typical Ravenclaw, I had com outside to study. Not to enjoy the nice day. I sat under a tree with my History of Magic book. The subject was so boring, and maybe even pointless, but that wouldn't stop me from failing. I was reviewing the Gobline Wars. I leaned on the trunk of the tree imagining in my head goblins exploding.

I'm taking a stroll around the grounds outside Hogwarts, just thinking through a lot of things and watching the skyline instead of my feet, when I realize I'm only a few inches away from stepping on somebody's feet, and only a few feet away from colliding with a tree.
"Oh... sorry," I say distractedly. "Didn't see you there."

[Hayley McMicken]

"Its alright really. Didn't expect anyone else to be out here." I said.

[Andrew Foster]

I nod, not really listening, looking over at the forest not too far away. Or at least not far enough. After a moment I shake my head and look back down at her, smiling slightly. "Come outside to study?"

[Hayley McMicken]

"Of course. Thats pretty much the only thing I do come to think of it." I said.

[Andrew Foster]

"Pretty sad life," I say absently, looking around the grounds again. "Got any friends?"

[Hayley McMicken]

"Meh. Sure I talk to people, but no one who I would call a friend freind." I said.

[Andrew Foster]

"Hm," I say, looking down at her properly for once. "I really think you ought to have a friend. They make life much more worth living than if all you do is study... Raven?" I guess, deciding to give into stereotyping.

[Hayley McMicken]

"Of course. But life is life. Something is going to go wrong in the end. Plus I'm so out of it that I could be from another planet." I joked.

[Andrew Foster]

"Hm," I say again, frowning. "You know, 'something is going to go wrong anyway' is no way to live. And so what if you're 'out of it'? When has that ever stopped anybody?"

[Hayley McMicken]

"First of all I know, but I can't help it. Being out of it has never stopped anyone. I guess I better way to describe me is in my own bubble that probably is not poping any time soon." I said.

[Andrew Foster]

"Still a pretty sad way to live," I murmur, eying the skyline again. I gl;ance down at her again and smile very slightly - or turn up the corners of my mouth at any rate. "Sorry 'bout the unsolicited advice. I mean no offense."

[Hayley McMicken]

"Theres nothing to apoligize. I probably would have said the same thing to you." I said.

[Andrew Foster]

"If you caught me studying and saying I had no friends?" I ask, unable to keep the amusement out of my voice or slight grin off my face. "Only in an alternate universe where Dumbledore's a pureblood snob and the Dark Lord hands out candy."

[Hayley McMicken]

"As much as the universe is hard to belive I wish it were true. I love candy." I said with a grin.

[Andrew Foster]

I laugh very slightly, smile disappearing almost s soon as I finish. "There are places in this universe you can get candy, you know, without resorting to that."

[Hayley McMicken]

"I'm just joshing you. The best unreal universe would be a peaceful one with or with out candy." I said.

ooc-Joshing=kidding. One of my sisters friends always loves saying that word, so I just had to use it.

[Andrew Foster]

"You can say that again," I say with a soft snort. "Peaceful without candy would be better than this world with all the candy in it."

With a grin I repeated, "I'm just joshing you. The best unreal universe would be a peaceful one with or with out candy."

I look at her oddly for a moment before I realize that I'd said she could say it again. I grin slightly, reminded of Andra. "Very cute," I say dryly. "Taking me literally and everything."

"Yeah. Thats the way my brain works." I joked.

"Wonder you can get anything done then," I mutter, lifting my eyebrows.

"Thats because I'm a real genius." I joked.

"Ah. 'Course you are," I nod.

[Hayley McMicken]

"I am." I insisted. "I'm a ravenclaw." I pointed out.

[Andrew Foster]

"Doesn't mean that you're a genius," I point out, shaking my head. "My sister was a Ravenclaw and she's sure not a genius. Intelligent, yes, but..." I shrug. "And I was a Gryffindor but wouldn't say I'm brave." Quite the opposite, in fact.

[Hayley McMicken]

"I'm sure you are brave, its just not so obvious. In fact, anyone can be brave. Its called an adrenaline rush." I said.

[Andrew Foster]

I shake my head, frowning. "Pretty big difference between an adrenaline rush and bravery.... but still, there's my point. I think...."

[Hayley McMicken]

"I guess you are right. But that hat knows best. He must have known something about you that you never realized. It didn't put you into Gryffindor for no reason." I said.

[Andrew Foster]

I shrug. "Maybe it mistook my recklessness for bravery, that's all. I mean, for an eleven-year-old maybe it was...." I shrug again. "But I apologize. If you think you're a genius who am I to tell you no?"
