Draven made his way down to the grounds. Sure, the castle was a great way to meet people, but he needed some air. It got awfully congested in there. He sauntered over to a nearby tree and settled down beneath it.
'Wow, it's actually quite nice out here.' Drave thought to himself, leaning his head up against the trunk of the tree.
He sighed and tilted his head toward the sky. It was a great day to be outdoors. The sky was a pale blue and the clouds were puffy and fat. Draven closed his eyes for a moment, reopening them when he heard a noise not too far away.

"Finally..." I say with a huff and sit down next to a boy without paying attention to him. "Stupid Herbology..." I mutter.

Draven raised an eyebrow, turning his attention to a flustered girl that had sat down. He shifted himself so his body was facing her. "Are you alright?" Drave asked, eyebrow still quirked at her.

"Wh-What? Oh." I say realising someone was sitting there. "Yeah, I'll be fine. Professor gives me a hard time because I'm late everyday..." I say with a sigh. "But anyway, I'm Shelby Henderson."

"Oh..." Draven replied, shrugging his shoulders. It must have not been that important anyways, seeing how quickly she'd gotten over it. "Draven Slayter." He stuck his hand out with a small smile, "Nice to meet you."

Draven nodded, letting his hand slip back down to his side. "Yup, and I take it by the question that you're not." He chuckled, grinning slightly.

Drave grinned wider, chuckling a little louder this time. "Seventh year Ravenclaw." He announced proudly. Draven shoved his hands into his pockets and waited for a response from her.

"Ah.." He nodded, wondering why he'd never met her before now. I mean, he had stopped off in the common room...
"Oh, well I was just thinking that if you're on the welcoming committee, then shouldn't you be holding up some sort of welcome banner?" Draven asked with a smirk.

"Oh, I'm pretty sure I'm not your typical guy." He laughed, making a fake 'O' face. Draven chuckled again and brushed some of the hair out of his eyes. It was always getting in the way. "So the ol' herbology teacher is givin' ya a hard time, huh?" Drave asked.

I laugh slightly. "I'll be the judge of that...but yes. She hates me because I love Astronomy and would rather use a incendio spell and burn her precious plants instead..." I say with a grin.

Draven chuckled and shook his head at her, "I quite enjoy Herbology, not that I don't love star-gazing as well." He grinned, "Although I can't say that I'm good enough to name them all..."

He nodded, "Herbology isn't all that hard either," Draven explained, considering it was his favorite subject, "Once you know what your looking for, it's quite easy to identify what type of plant it is." Draven said and brushed a piece of hair out of his face, "But then again, it's getting to the class you're having trouble with." A smirk crept up on his lips.

Draven rolled his eyes, "So if I were to hold up, take for instance, this leaf-" He stooped to the ground and picked up a crumpled, brown leaf, "And this weed-" Draven leaned to the other side and picked a random weed in the grass. "You would be meaning to tell me that these look the same?" Draven had that kind of humour. A grin split his lips, waiting for her response.
