I nod. Even colder than if you torture them? "So... you didn't exactly get along?" I ask about her parents, knowing that I'm being nosy again.

"Well...Yes...And no." She shurgged. "They wanted somthing for me. Be the pure blood daughter, the whole nine yards. Arranged marriage, only getting married to someone that could quite possibly be your cousin somewhere along the line, to create an heir to the pure blood." She starts. "At first I was all for it. Sounded great. Rich husband. Get a kid. Nice house.." Amiee pauses. Ugly mark on my arm....
"But then I saw how cruel that is. How unfair." She mutters. "And I start to rebel. You can imagine how things went from there."

I laugh very slightly and humorlessly again, then nod. "That I can... not that I have to. Saw my little sister do something mildly similar, except that she was a rebel from the start." I pause. "You glad that you did, or do you sometimes regret it?" I ask curiously.

Amiee sits there for a moment. "Wow...Never heard that one.." She said with a softly chuckle. "Umm...Again, yes and no..." She says.
If I had kept my big mouth shut, I'd be able to see stilll...

I nod. "That makes sense. Hard to decide that you'd rather be a completely different person unless you really hate yourself," I say thoughtfully.
Would I rather be a different person from what I am now? I know that I don't want to be the person that I was a couple months ago... but could I have been better?
I shrug, shaking my head.
