Now that his father was dead Rodolfus had a lot to do. Getting married, making sure his brother got the mark, and serving the Dark Lord at every possible moment were among the top priorities.
He didn't often stroll idly across the grounds but today he deserved a little break. Life was going to get hectic quickly and there was little Rodolfus could do about it. This melancholy mood didn't suit him and he almost wished he was a prankster so he could releive some tension.
Leaning against the castle wall he watched the other students. Each had their own problems to deal with, though he could only imagine how inane some of them probably were. Right now he was content to laze there, his duties forgotten for a time.

Rodolfus watched water drip from his hair and knew his time of reflection was over. Normally that kind of stunt would have gotten the hufflepuff a curse, but he was in an odd mood today and instead just dried himself off with a spell.
"It's nothing." He didn't smile, just gazed back over the grounds. He was being moderately kind to a hufflepuff, his father was turning in his freshly dug grave.

Rod let out a sigh. The hufflepuff was generally sorry but really it was just water. Turning his gaze back to the hufflepuff he shook his head. "Really it's quite alright." He knew that tomorrow he'd have to Avada Kedavra himself but right now it just wasn't worth the energy.

Rodolfus didn't normally converse with people outside his house. Those conversations often revolved around how pathetic the other houses were, infected with their mudbloods. So he shifted into something familiar. The formality he was taught as a child.
"I'm Rodolfus. Pleasure to make your acquaintance." He had to force himself to not bow as he was taught. He also left out his last name as that was a sure indication that he was a Death Eater. The Lestranges had been suspected of being evil far before Voldemort showed up and his family name brought up a lot of problems.

He never went to the bookstore, he sent his servents or had his brother pick up what he needed. "You must mean my brother. He's a bit younger but we do look a lot alike."
Thinking for a few moments, his slytherin side suddenly kicked in. He was talking to a hufflepuff who could potentially have connections to the Order. These days everyone was on one side or the other and he could bet Rika was on the other. Smiling slightly he looked at Rika and decided that he might be able to make her slip and give something away.
"This war is taking it's toll. I've recently lost my father because of it. I just wish it would end." His depression at being stuck as the new head of the family was easy to translate as false depression for his father's death.

Glad he had her sympathy he let his gaze fall back to the ground so she couldn't see his face. He wasn't as good at changing his emotions as Evan or Wilkies so the best thing to do was hide his face. Smirking he continued.
"I've been hearing about this Order of the Pheonix. It's some underground resistance to the Death Eaters. What about you? Have you heard anything?" He poured every ounce of fake sincerity he could into his statement while trying not to laugh in amusement at his own lie.

"Unfortunatly only the bare minimum. That they are fighting the good fight and all that." Rodolfus let out an exaggerated sigh. Maybe he was wrong and this girl was not in fact an Order member but just a regular student.
"Any rumors you've heard? Like who to talk to about joining?" Rodolfus figured that if he could bring something to the Dark Lord about the Order, anything at all, he would be allowed into the inner circle much more quickly.

This girl was either a lot more intelligent than his first impression had led him to believe or she wasn't affiliated with the Order. He'd have to try elsewhere to get his information. Pushing away from the wall he backed towards the castle door a little. "Alright. If you hear anything let me know. I've got a prior engagement to attend to."
