I sigh heavily, sitting on the window ledge. I'd told Rowan to meet me here. It was time. He'd get what he wanted, and so would I, which had turned out to be the same thing. I clutched the notes, and Erin's lighter in my hand. Hopefully I'd convince him to pass them on for me. I look out of the window, waiting.

"You wanted to speak to me, Christopher?" I say, watching him from the doorway.

"Yes, Rowan." I say sadly. "I'm tired of this now. Please, let's just talk this out like human beings?"

I look at him. I'd never seen him like this before. Almost...broken. "Alright," I say eventually, sitting on the ledge next to him. "Let's talk this out."

I smile weakly. "I'm sorry Rowan. I never meant to leave. Well, I did mean to leave. But life on the run isn't enviable. I didn't want you to be a part of it too. What do you think's going to happen when I get caught? I don't want you being dragged down with me."

"Anything would be better than being stuck there, Ian. You left me for dead. Years of pain, and abuse, and being forced to do awful things for Him. And I didn't even have my brother to cheer me up and make me laugh anymore."

"I thought that would be best." I say honestly. "Without me there. Maybe they'd lay off a bit. One person can't do the work of two. I just didn't want you to get caught up in what I did, Rowan."

"You should have known better then, shouldn't you? And I know what you did, and I'm not happy about it. You shouldn't have killed all those people. My friends. Our team. You shouldn't have done it. But your my brother, and I'll stand by you. No matter what."

"Then stand by me." I say, looking up at him. "Let's give this brother thing another shot, shall we?"

I nod. "Okay, brother."

I hold out my hand for him to shake, "It's good to be a family again, huh?"

"Great." I smile slightly, knocking his hand away and hugging him, in a brotherly way.

I hesitate, slightly confused, then laugh slightly, hugging him back. "I missed having a brother." I admit.

"I missed it too." I laugh, hugging him tightly. "Don't disappear on me, Ian. Take me with you next time."

"I will, Row. I promise. Next time, we're on the run together."

"Til death do we sever." I laugh, "Which is probably just round the corner, but that's okay. You're all I've got Chris. Sad as that is, you're my brother and you're all I've got."

"You think I've got anything more than you, stupid sod?" I laugh.

"Well, maybe." I laugh. "If you haven't, my sympathies."

"Shove your sympathies up your ass. I don't need them."
