"Maybe there's an afterlife or something for all those who deserve it... I don't know," I shrug. "Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between what you believe and what you want to believe."

"There might be, but I guess we'll never know." I tell her,"Yeah, I guess it always is. It's like you want to believe that everything will be ok and that no one else is going to die...but you know that won't happen until this war is over."

"And even not really then," I mutter, shooting her a measuring glance. "Hey, can I... can I ask you what side you support?" I ask, knowing that there's little chance of knowing if she's being truthful or not.

"When it comes to this war I like to be neutral, you see...Angel Miller/Simmons and I took an unbreakable vow to never choose a side. And I plan to stick to it. I couldn't stand to kill my family or friends due to this war." I tell her knowing when it came to this kind of subject that it's hard to believe anyone.

I nod, relaxing slightly and deciding that's believable. "That's... that's kind of what I was getting at, I guess. Good people on both sides... and even when it's over they'll get hurt," I shrug. "How do you decide what's really justice? How to draw the line between hating the doer and the thing they've done?" I laugh very slightly as I realize that once again I'm having an impromptu philosophical debate with someone I don't know especially well.

"Yeah, I realize that some people are forced to become death eaters while other people choose it. Just like the Order, but they're not really forced though unless forced by a death eater to spy or what not. Someone always has to get hurt though, it's just a law of nature." I pause a few seconds to think about what she asked,"I guess it's down to the person making that decision. Do you count justice as doing something wrong to make a right, or doing something right to make a wrong? According to Einstein every action has an equal but opposite reaction, so something bad is going to happen to someone else...whether they deserve it or not."

I frown and shake my head. "Not everything is going to cause something bad to someone... there are win-win scenarios out there. But what do you do to good people who fucked up, or... or bad people who change, or... or people who deserve some kind of punishment but maybe not the one they're gonna get?" I shake my head again, leaning back against the wall and crossing my arms. "Karma is off on vacation."

I laugh a little,"Maybe that's not our decision. Maybe we just don't know the whole story, maybe there were just circumstances that we don't understand. I can't really say what a punishment should be, I don't think it's my place to dish that out."

I nod. "And I know it's not my place either... but that's the stuff I worry about, is the story and the circumstances. Somehow I don't think that it will matter to most Ministry officials. But it should." I shrug, pushing myself off the wall with my foot and then leaning back again.

"I agree, it should. But they just see black and white. But, it's not healthy to worry about it that much. I try not to."

"Yeah, probably not." I smile slightly. "Especially since it seems rather far off. It's just kind of tied in with karma in my mind, I guess. And I know what it's like to see in black and white, then have the colors start bleeding into each other. Very disorienting."

I nod,"But sometimes you can come out with a beautiful masterpiece in the end. Well then we need to get you out to do something to get your mind off of karma, and stress."

"No, it's all right." I shake my head and shrug. "I don't worry about it that much." I smirk slightly. "And so far it's only gray... just a big old blob of gray. Which is, I s'pose, a slightly nicer color than the others."

"you sure...I could spice up your life."I laugh jokingly,"Well, gray is a nice color. Without grey we wouldn't have concrete."I smile,"You know gray is a very confusing word. You can spell it gray or grey. They both mean the same thing but have one slight letter off."

I laugh. "And you think about this often?" I ask, shaking my head. "And we could have purple concrete."

"Probably many," I laugh. "None that I can think of, but yes... my head says funny things to me sometimes."

"Hmmm, I usually say it's the voices. They don't like some people."I laugh

"And do the voices make you do things to those people?" I ask, raising my eyebrows. "Mine just tend to nag at me and argue with each other... tell me that I'm stupid, stuff like that." I shrug slightly.

"Not that I'm aware of. They like to battle between what I should do in some situations...stupid voices."She said knocking on her head,"Your voices are mental. You're one of the most intellectual people I've ever had a conversation with. Plus from what I know of you, you're a great person."

I shake my head quickly sighing a little at the prospect of having to make this argument yet again. I open my mouth to start it, then just shake my head again, shoulders sagging. "Never mind," I mutter. "Just... I hate compliments. And of course the voices are mental but not for that reason. Yours like to argue?" I ask, to semi-change the subject.

"Thank you," I nod. "I appreciate that." I smile slightly. "Mine like to switch on and off a lot, just to confuse me. 'You hate him, no you don't.' It's very fun."

"No problem."I smiled,"Oh, I see. I hate it when the voices do that. They tend to get very confusing."

I nod again. "Especially when you go around telling people the things that the voices tell you," I say, smiling wryly. "And you wind up telling people that you hate them when five minutes later you aren't sure."
