[Lorelei Warren]

Rory thumbed threw titles in Flourish and Blotts.
Unlike some of her cousins she enjoyed reading.
She titled her head to the side, trying to read the title of the book, then shook her head and carried down along the aisle.
She found reading calming, a way she could escape the drama of her family life.
And right now, there was a lot of drama around.
She sighed wishing she could help fix everything, but she knew she couldn't.
Life wasn't fair sometimes, and Rory knew that all too well.

Nathan skipped down the street, ignoring the odd looks he was getting from people. He didn't much care. He was making the most of his life before he ended up getting all boring like them, "What's the matter with you people!? You only live once!"

Then he came to a hault outside Flourish and Blott's spotting his cousin inside. He paused to reflect how odd that was...it was not often a cousin was found in a bookshop...then he realised he was looking at Rory, and life made sense again.

Grinning slightly, he pushed open the door and ducked behind a shelf so she couldn't see him, before creeping along with his back to the shelf in an espionage kind of way before jumping out and into the aisle she was in, singing, "Lorelei! Lorelei! Lorelei!"

Rory gasps, surprised as someone jumps infront of her but then frowns slightly realizing it's only Nathan.
"Of course." She mutters rolling her eyes,"Jesus Nate, nearly gave me a heart attack," She laughs lightly, pulling him into a hug,"You twat, don't call me that out in public."

"That's what I'm here for," He grinned and hugged her back, picking her up then dropping her down again just for the hell of it, "Why? It's a bootiful name me lovely," He grinned, then started singing under his breath, "Lorelei, Lorelei, Lorelei..."

"Course you are, nothing better for you to do anyways." She teases, brushing her bangs from her face.
A slight frown plays on her lips as she reaches out putting a delicate hand over her younger cousin's mouth."Shut up Nathan Grant or I will be forced to hurt you." She says seriously.
"God, you really are insanse? I mean come on Natty, Lorelei? What on earth was my mother thinking when she named me?"

"Nope," He grinned proudly, "Cos me life is going no where!"
He started to speak against her hand, then sighed and licked it.
"Yes, I really am insane," He chuckled, pulling her hand away, "Probably thinking about omlette's or something. Preoccupied so she gave you that name. Very pretty. Did you know I'm changing my name to Natalie?"
He paused contemplatively and licked her hand again.

"Course it's not, last I heard your mum was telling mine you were working for the Ministry?" She asks then grimances as he licks her hand,"Oh gross! Nathan!"
She glares slightly at him,"They should lock you up, is what they should do. It's not pretty, god I"d rather have Maddie's name then mine. Natalie? Finally getting that sex change you always wanted?" She smirks.
"Oh god, you sicko." She mutters, wiping her hand across his face,"I don't want your germs. I have a four year old son to look after."

"Yeah, I'm an auror, I am." He grinned proudly, then glared sourly at no one, "They just gave me a desk job now."
"But-but-but-but-but if I get locked up...then who would be nosy about stuff?"
"Yeah, getting that sex-change. Gonna get me some lesbian sex as a girl," He laughed, "But Jack says he's gonna disown me if I get a sex change. Don't you think that's inappropriate?"
"Hey, whoa now...son...son...son...? Did I know about that and have forgotten or I am in the dark about that?"

"Oh wow Natty, an auror? You of all people?" She tease but she was really happy for her cousin,"Oh a desk job, how you taking that?"
"Charlie, god knows he's just as nosy as you." She laughs then frowns slightly.
"Oh god, Nathan that's just gross."
"He won't go through with it, you know JackJack, all talk and no action." She laughs tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear.
"Yeah, son he's four. And now I havn't told anyone, so don't worry, didn't tell anyone I got married either, boy was mum mad when she found out."

"I know!" He laughed, then pulled a face, "I miss field work. But at least I get to be at home, I guess. Not sure if that's a good thing or not..."
"Yeah, but he's a runt." He sulked, crossing his arms across his chest.
"Slightly gross, for you. I think it's a very worthy plan." He laughed, "Yeah, JackJack's all talk. He rapes walls. The dirty dirty man."
He pulled a hurt face, "I'm actually quite sad. You didn't even tell me? Me of all people? You're favouritist bestest closest cousin? I want to meet your son. Can I meet him? Please? Please? Please?"

"Real proud of you Nate." She grins, pulling him into another hug,"So it's a desk job, and you have to sit still for a billion hours, your an auror!" She exclaims happily.
"Yes, he may be a runt, but he's our runt, just like Jack's our pervert and MJ's our little angel." She smiles weakly, knowing how hard it had been for MJ these past months.
"Sorry Natty, I really am. Course you can meet him, think you two will really get along well."

He laughed, hugging her back, "I know. It was cool a first, with the being out and things, but now it's just paperwork and Jack coming to bother me. But I can still say I am in fact an auror, fear me bitches!"
He grinned at the couple of odd looks he got and then turned back to her, "Yeah, MJ the little worn out angel, poor kiddo."
"Yeah, you should be sorry," He mumbled, then looked back up, grinning, "Aha! Sweetness."

"Yes well you could always threaten Jack with those pink rabbits he's scared of." She laughs."Oh a big bad auror, we're so scared Nathan." She teases.
"She's getting better though right? I went to see her yesterday and her eyes..-her eyes Natty, they're not the same." She mutters quietly.
"I am, really I am." She says,"Yes, yes. He's four. Name's Johnny."

"Hmm...good point," He grinned, "I'll remember that. You should fear me, oh gosh. Well not you specifically, but people in general should fear me at least."
"I dunno if she's getting better. I went by to see her, ran into a few doors and stuff, she's not the same."
"Alright then, you're forgiven. Johnny...Johnny...I'll remember it."

"Just make sure he's drunk enough or it won't work." She grins,"Oh yeah, Natty, I'm terrified of you." She rolls her eyes ruffling his hair,"Gosh Nate, haircut, seriously." She teases.
"It'll take some time, she needs us."
"Hope so, he's a good kid, reminds me a lot of Noah." She laughs,"Only red hair, not black."

He tapped the side of his head, "Got it. You should be, but seeing as you're my favourite...according to Jack anyway, cos me and you have a bond. You're my bond woman, feel so special."
"Meh," He batted her hand away with a grin, "No haircut for me! See, I'm growing it as long as possible. I have my reasons."
"Yeah, I know. She'll get better. Even if her cousins suffocate her and her boyfriend twitches."
"Aww no...he's like Noah? Oh man, why couldn't he be like his soon to be favourite uncle?" He laughed, "Aww...little red head. Sweet."

She laughs, tapping her heart lightly with her hand,"Oh yeah, I feel special, you and me and that bond. Is our bond stronger then yours and Noah's Natty?"
She raises an eyebrow, putting a hand on her hip,"You have your reasons? And what may that be? You want to look like a hobo?"
She laughs,"He twitches? Oh wow, made her talk about him the other day, when I was about him, all she had to say was he was 'different'. Not very helpful if you ask me."
She nods her head,"Yup, a bit of Noah and a bit of Kaleb. God help me if he was like you," She teases sticking her tongue out at him.
"Yeah, wished he was a blond though, but no. MJ's the only blonde in the family."

"Hmm..." He put his finger to his chin, thinking, "Tis a very close call, but I'd have to say probably so. Me and you, we're kindred spirits, woman, can't forget that," He grinned.
"Hobo...coolio. But hey, hey, look, reasons...there's this poem, written like 5 billion centuries ago and it's about this woman and she had real long hair like and then some peasant guy she was having an affair with, he went bonkers right and strangled her with her own hair. I want to grow my hair that long so I can strangle people, how cool would that be?"
"Uh-huh...twitches. Well, he looks like the type that twitches anyway. You know...strange mannerisms...can't keep still nervy twitchy runt. Aw bless, different," He grinned and shook his head, "God, you should have asked if he was 'the one'. I love asking people that. Makes them uncomfortable."
"Noah and Kaleb...aw man. The most boring of the family," He joked, "Aw, you'd love it if he was like me. Never a dull moment. God, why would you want a blonde? Ginger's cool!"

"So you and I are kindred spirits? Even though my spirit is five years older?" She laughs lightly.
Her eyes widen slightly,"Strangled her with her own hair? Oh my god, that'd be a horrible way to go, Nathan why do you read such things? And what I'd like to know is why'd she had an affair with a peasant in the first place?" She questions, tilting her head to the side as she often did when she wondered about things.
"Well then he's got something in common with MJ, got knows she can't sit still, or stay quiet for that matter." She laughs,"Oh please Nathan, 'the one'? True love at 17, not likely."
"Oi, leave my big brother alone you prat." She laughs, smacking him lightly round the side of the head,"Yes, I know ginger's cool, I am one after all." She grins, flipping her hair back over her shoulder,"I just think it's lovely, MJ's really lucky, all that blonde hair, and the only one too, out of 17, pretty amazing."

He pretended to think for a moment, then gave an exaggerated nod, "Yes, that's right. You spirit was just very lonely until mine came along and bugged it."
"It's such a great poem though...seriously, it's like...Her hair in one long string I wound, three times her little throat around, and strangled her. No pain felt she, I am quite sure she felt no pain. As a shut bud that holds a bee, I warily oped her lids; again laughed the blue eyes without a stain. It's like...whoa. Fucking uber. She had an affair with the peasant cos she loved him. Duh. And it had to be an affair cos rich girls can't love peasant boys. Simple."
"Yeah, but MJ's nice and friendly and stuff. And he looks like he wants to kill me. Or maybe that's just cos a lot of people look like they want to kill me. I don't know. He scares me, and MJ does not," He laughed, "I'm not saying it's true love, most probably not. I just like asking people cos it's an awkward question."
"You know I love both of our brothers dearly," He grinned, "Wait, wait, you're ginger? Oh whoa shit...I never noticed," He laughed, rolled his eyes, "Yeah, sure, she's lucky to have blonde hair. Does it matter? It's just hair. Oh Bob."

"Bugging is what you do best," She agrees, nodding her head.
"Never knew you were one for poetry Nathan," She teases then sudders,"God, that's horrible, what kind of example are you setting for your sisters?"
"Yes, well your scared of MJ when she loses her temper, everyone is really, that's one temper you'd better not mess with if you know what's good for you. Yes I know asking awkward questions to people, it's funny watching them squirm." She laughs.

"I am most proud," He grinned, wiping away an imaginary tear.
He laughed, "It stuck in my head cos I thought it was cool. Aw come on, Leney was weird anyway. And Clairebear takes after Noah so they can be boring together and me and Leney can laugh at twisted poetry together."
"Yeah, okay, when MJ loses her temper she is scary. Agreed. Awkward questions are the best. Funny stuff."

"You'd make Davey real proud Nathan,"She grins slightly.
"Well at least one of them will turn out okay, and won't lick people as a sign of affection," She laughs.
"Who knew someone that small could hit that hard? Glad we agree on something then, asking family awkward question is out favourite hobby."

"I know," He grinned.
He laughed and put a hand to his heart, "Aw, bless. Little Leney takes after me. I didn't know she'd picked up the licking trait already, didn't start doing that until I was a couple of years older than she was. So proud of her and her bonkers nature. Clairebear'll turn out boring...like you!" He laughed, prodding her in the shoulder.
"Yeah, she smacked me one when I asked if he was the one, and then went all stuttery and said...No...yes...shut up. It was great. Yay, we agree. Hell yeah, we're cool."

"God, I missed the years were you didn't lick people," She laughs, putting a book she was eyeing back on the shelf,"Claire will turn out to be a lady, unlike MJ, god knows it's too late for her."
She laughs harder,"Oh my god, you asked her if he was 'the one' your bad Natty, is that what she really said? Poor guy, he'll never stand a chance, I'm still amazed she's stayed with him this long, god knows that girl's longest relationship lasted what four months was it?"

"Aw come on, you love it," He grinned, "Ew...my sister's a lady! Yuk!"
"Yeah, it was really funny," He laughed, "But then she went all mumbley. Yeah, I know, this has got to be a record. Leney told me it's sweet, so I guess it must be because her word is law or something. Or so she told me. I shouldn't listen to everything my little sister tells me really."
He paused and scratched his head, then rummaged in his pocket and pulled out a long piece of green string, "Wanna see something cool?"
Without waiting for an answer, he curled the string up a few times so it was shorter and put it in his mouth with the ends hanging out of the corners, then moved his lips together in a gourmless way a few times, "This is how turtles eat."

"Wouldn't hurt you to be a bit of a gentlemen Nathan," She replies.
"Wow, MJ speechless, wish I could have seen it," She grins, pushing her hair back over her shoulder, she really does love him though, doesn't she?"
She watches him, an amused smile playing on her lips,"Oh god Nathan," She laughs,"Your are honestly a two year old trapped in a twenty-two year old's body."

"It might," He insisted.
"It was the eight wonder of the world," He nodded solemnly, grinning at the same time, "Yeah, completely crazy about him...although I can't say many of us would agree with it. Have you met him yet? Charlie says he's a psychopath, Jack says he's a runt, and Leney says that he smells funny and when MJ wears his clothes then the smell rubs off on her and makes her taste funny."
"Yeah, honestly," He grinned, "It's cool though...huh?"

"Would not," She agrues.
"Wow, once in a lifetime event huh?" She asks, grinning slightly."No, haven't met him yet, but from what I hear it's that they..well they work well together. Well Charlie's over protective of her, Jack's a gaint who needs to have his knee caps cut off and Leney needs to stop licking people and wait..she's wearing his clothes, oh my.."

"Would too," He stuck his tongue out at her.
"Uh-huh," He grinned, then shrugged, "Meh, he's alright, I guess. Twitchy, very defensive, as un-MJ as you can get," He laughed, then sobered up slightly, "From what I hear, Charlie has every right to hate him and be protective of Maddie, part of the 'club'," He said the last word witheringly, brandishing his left arm so she'd know exactly what 'club' he was referring to, even if she didn't know he was part of the same one, then he grinned slightly, "Oooh, that sounds fun, you hold Jack down and I'll cut out the knee caps!"
"Yeah, well, let her have fun. It's a sign of affection, if she wants to tell someone she likes them by licking them then let her. Doesn't do any harm does it?" He grinned, "Yeah, she's wearing his clothes...is that some girl code I don't understand?"
