I haven’t been down to the kitchens since meeting Riley here, and hadn’t really wanted to since Andra died. At some point, however, I’d figured out that it was pretty near impossible to avoid every place associated with her… that, and I’d started feeling better.
Today I had neglected to eat either lunch or dinner because I was busy reading. A few cookies stashed away kept me from starving, but now it’s eight o’clock and I haven’t had a proper meal all day, since I don’t eat breakfast anymore. So back to the kitchens it is.
I sigh a bit, mind still on the book I read as I find some sort of meat and a piece of bread. It’s cold, but I don’t really care – at least it’s not those cookies.

I walked into the kitchens and sighed slightly, I was bored and hungry, truthfully, I wanted pineapple again, but that's one thing the kitchen's just never had, "I don't get it" I say quietly out loud to myself. Not seeing Arden already there.

I half jump in surprise as I hear someone come in, turning to see that it's Riley. "Don't get what?" I ask through an automatic grin, happy to see him again either despite or because of the less-than-cheery terms we parted on the last time.

I jumped slightly and turned around to see Arden. I laughed a little, "Nothing.. The pineapple again" I say mumbling slightly, grinning.

"... Right," I frown, then shake my head and drop the subject, picking up my sandwich. "So I haven't seen you in a while," I say cheerily, sitting down in the same place as last time I'd been in here. Whole week, was it?

"Yeah, has been a while," I say smiling widely sitting down at the table, "How've you been?" I asked her leaning back in the chair.

I pause, actually considering before I answer. "... Better," I say thoughtfully. "Significantly better." It still feels like somebody punched me very hard when I think about Andra, but it's not as bad it was. "How 'bout you?" I ask, taking a bite of my sandwich.

I nodded slighty, smiling widely, "That's good.... Umm, yeah, I've been good"

"That's good," I nod, then grin at the repetitiveness of it. "So what are you doing down here this evening?"

"Looking for food" I say chuckling slightly, "Just didn't know what... but I see you were doing the same" I add nodding at her sandwhich.

"Missed dinner again," I say with a self-deprecating eye roll. "And lunch, actually. Chance lent me a book about this girl who disguised herself as a boy to fight in the Centaur Wars. I couldn't be bothered to leave my dorm room."

I chuckled slightly, "Ah, okay" I say grinning lightly and nodding my head, "I've done that before" I add standing up and looking into the fridge.

"Now my eyes hurt though," I say, laughing slightly. "And I haven't eaten anything but my emergency stash of oatmeal cookies."

"Well, that would qualify as an emergency" I say grinning looking over to her and closing the fridge, before opening a cupboard and grabbing a jar of peanut butter and a spoon. I sat back down, "Sorry about your eyes hurting though"

I shrug. "The book was worth it, you should read it." I eye the peanut butter. "You cannot be seriously thinking of eating that straight from the jar, are you?"

"I'll consider reading it" I say smiling to her and opening the jar and then laughing a little, "Actually yes I was... not all of it"

"Blech." I make a face at it. "And actually, you better. Highly unsanitary otherwise." I nod wisely, then laugh. "And I'll see what I can do about lending it you... though I'm pretty sure that Chance was already borrowing it from someone else, so she might not like having her possessions stray too far."

I laughed, "I was only gonna eat a spoonful out of it" I say chuckling, "And yeah, I wouldn't want to lend it to someone I didn't know"

"Maybe she will anyway," I shrug. "And all right... that's more acceptable. Still quite weird though."

I shrugged, "Maybe" I say smiling, "How's it weird?" I asked her chuckling slightly, taking some peanut butter out of the jar, and setting the jar on the table.

"I don't know," I shrug. "Just... weird. Maybe because you're the one doing it."

"Eaten raw peanut butter?" I ask, raising my eyebrows. "No. Actually.... I'm not sure I've ever eaten peanut butter." I frown slightly, eying it, and take another bite of my sandwich.

I laughed slighty, "You've never eaten peanut butter?" I asked her in disbelief, "You should.." I add pushing the jar toward her, "Unless you're allgeric... then I wouldn't suggest it"

"And... what might happen if I am allergic?" I ask, eying the jar almost warily. "If I've really never eaten it then I don't know...."
|
|
|
Post by Riley Pearson on Dec 17, 2007 22:35:55 GMT
"Well... you probably won't be able to breath too well... you've never eaten any peanut products?" I asked her curiously.

"No, I probably have." I think carefully, then shrug, scooping off a bit of it from the edge of the jar with my pinkie. "Good a way to find out as any, right?"
