I bounced into the Great Hall - that's right, not walking, bouncing - because I was really really hyper. Like, more hyper than I've been in MONTHS. Maybe it was because of actually having a full night's sleep for the first time in weeks, or maybe because it was the first morning in five months that I haven't had morning sickness, but I was HAPPY. I walked over to a random table and sat down and grinned at who was next to me. "Good morning!" I said brightly.

I look up from the book that I've been trying to read at breakfast, raising my eyebrows rather stony-faced at the person across from me. And I just figured out how to block out all the sound.... I sigh. "You seem cheerful," I say, deciding not to hold it against her.

I grinned even wider. "I am! And hi! My name's Annie!"

I smile despite myself and shake my head. "Arden, Arden Patricks. Nice to meet you." I take a sip of orange juice and I eye her over the glass. "Aren't you a gryffy?"

Annie grinned widely. "Yuppers, but I'm too happy to sit with my fellow Gryffies. Hm....you know what? We should make up nicknames for Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs!"

I raise my eyebrows. "I would really rather not... been called a Puff before. And since when are gryffies gloomy?" I ask, looking over my shoulder at their table. "I thought most of you were hyper."

I laughed. "Yeah, but most of them need coffee first, silly caffeinerful peoples. I can't have caffeine anymore, so this is ALL natural."

"Well... congratulations," I say, laughing slightly. "Why can't you have caffeine anymore though? Lose a bet with someone evil?"

"Nope!" I said, and looked down and put my hands on my belly. "I'm preggers, not just fat." I joked.

"Really?" My eyes go wide. "Um... gee, I thought you were fat," I say without really thinking. "I guess a lot of people are lately... but you can't have caffeine?"
((Lol... um... please don't ever answer this thread when logged in as Peter ever again. I'm sorry... couldn't quite reconcile the avatar with the words in the post.))

I burst out laughing. "Geez, thanks. And nope. Well, you can, but it's supppsed to be bad for the baby, so..." I shrugged.
<<God fucking damn it....sorry, my computer sometimes randomly switches who I'm on as and I don't realize it half the time....lmao>>

"Ah... well, that kind of means you can't, then, unless you're really selfish," I shrug. "And I didn't really mean that... it was sarcasm but I forgot to use the right vocal inflections...." I shrug again.
((Ah... that's weird. And hey, it was amusing once I got past the oddness of it.))

<<Lmao, yeah I bet it was... PETER'S PREGGERS!!!!!!!! haha>>

((Now that would be quite a plot twist....))

I give a short laugh. "Um... well. That's a lot of responsibility to heap on a pretty-much-stranger." I take a sip of orange juice. "Do you not have any friends?"

"Oh yeaaaaah....." I said, looking up and thinking about it for a moment. "I suppose I should ask them too....Yumi or Hannah, prolly...you can have my thirdborn! As a godchild, I mean..."

"Oh, good," I say, nodding seriously. "I didn't want to eat it. Are those your only friends though?"

"Well...no. But Lin's not really cut out for godparenting, and all my other friends live in France...I just transfered from Beaubatons...I've always lived here, just went to school there."

"How come?" I ask curiously. "And I guess that you have enough friends then, so you could probably use some more here."

I shrugged. "I dunno, some silly fetish my mum had, I guess. Any of her baby girls must go there!" I said laughing.

"I see," I nod, laughing slightly and for no apparent reason except perhaps that her laughter is contagious. "Just girls though?"

I nodded, grinning. "Peter got to come straight here, as her only son, and her only daughter had to go to France." I laughed slightly. "The best part is, neither of us are her children biologically.

I smiled. "Yes'm, I am. Peter's not, though. Well, kind of. Our dad is his father, but our mum is his step-mother. Not that he ever calls her that. His birth mum's a stupid whore, to be frank, and we don't keep in contact with her."

"Ah," I nod. "I see." I pause, trying to think of something else to say, but my efforts are foiled slightly by how early in the morning it is. So I just nod again.

"Not really," I say, laughing slightly and shaking my head. "I tend to need a bit of caffeine. And even when I've got it, I don't think I've ever achieved your level of... bounciness."

I laugh. "So it would seem. People like you are good to have around though, cheer up the rest of us."
