Secrecy (Riley)

[Riyann Servansikk]

I walked slowly throught the forest, careful to watch for other people. I sat on a tree stump when I was satisfied and waited for Riley, jumping slightly when he finally came.

[Riley Pearson]

"Hey" I said smiling walking up to her, "What's up?" I ask reaching her and sitting down on a stump next to hers, slightly wondering why we were meeting in the forest.

"Hey," I said, smiling up at him. "Sorry, but can't let anyone hear." I said quietly. "I just needed to warn you about the stuff I'll be doing in the war." I said slowly, hoping he'd understand.

[Riley Pearson]

I smile slightly faded and I nodded my head looking away from her for a moment before looking back, "Okay... what'd you want to tell me?"

[Riyann Servansikk]

"You know how Shelby's fighting Father Crescent and all, well I'm going to help." I said, pausing slowly. "I'm going to actually get the dark mark and then basically spy." I want this to stop.

[Riley Pearson]

My eyes widened slightly as I looked up back up at her with a worried look. "Spy?" I ask not really sure what to say, "On him?" I paused for a moment and rubbed the back of my neck, "Are... are you sure you want to do that?" I ask her slowly with a quiet voice, "What if he finds out? About us?"

[Riyann Servansikk]

"He still thinks it's you and Janie, but I'll find a way to protect you both." I said, hoping he'd understand. "I know what I'm doing." I hope. "I'll have Shelby helping me and the rest of the order."

[Riley Pearson]

"I don't care what happens to me.. I.. I just want you to be safe..." I said looking from my feet to her eyes, "I know you can take care of yourself, but this is just so.. dangerous" I finish with a worried look

[Riyann Servansikk]

I couldn't look him in the eye right after that. "I know." I whispered. "Who else would do it though? No one has the guts."

[Riley Pearson]

I grabbed her hand with mine and tried to get her to look into my eyes. "But why does it have to be you?" I ask swallowing, my mouth going dry, "Isn't there anybody else?" I add trying to find a way around it, knowing that she wasn't changing her mind anytime soon.

I wanted to convince him, but the truth would only be saying, no one else will because they know they'll die, but I strayed from that. Turning back to him I had tears in my eyes, not yet spilled over, but there. "Because I love you. If I waited for someone else I'd be a target more than if I were a 'spy'." I paused, the words sticking in my throat.

[Riley Pearson]

I saw the tears forming in her eyes and I almost felt some coming on me as well. I paused for a moment and pulled her into a tight hug, wrapping my arms around her.
"I love you" I say silently into her ear not knowing what to say about her response.

[Riyann Servansikk]

"I'm sorry." I said, wrapped tight in his arms, wiping my eyes when the tears finally fell over. "I love you too." More than anything else.

I blinked and few tears rolled down my cheeks, a knot forming in my throat.
I didn't say anything in response and held her tighter.
After a few minutes I pulled away slightly looking into her watery eyes, "Do you... have the mark yet?" I asked quietly momentarily looking toward the ground.

I looked at him, he looked at the ground. Pulling him closer I tilted his head upwards and shook my head no. "I had to talk to you."

I looked at her again and swallowed nodding my head slightly, "You don't have to do this..." I said after a few moments knowing, in the back of my mind, it wouldn't change a thing, "We can... find somebody else..."

I wanted so bad to give in and say okay, but I'd already promised Shelby, I was already waiting for them to say yes to giving me the mark, I already said I'd do something in this war before and here I am. Feeling a knot in my throat I tried to say I'd be okay but I couldn't speak at all so I nodded my head simply, burring it in his shoulder with tears.

As I wrapped my arms around her tightly, I rested my head on her shoulder and felt a few more tears fall from my eyes. "I don't want to lose you..." I said quietly, almost whispering.

I felt the tears come faster, wishing that none of this happened as it was. "You won't." I murmered. "I'll always be here for you."

[Riley Pearson]

I wiped a few tears from my eyes, "Promise?" I asked her softly, looking into her eyes again, rubbing away some tears from her cheek.

[Riyann Servansikk]

I nodded with a slight smile on my face. "I promise." I said slowly.

[Riley Pearson]

"Are you.. sure that you really want to do this?" I asked her quietly looking her in the eyes.

I nodded. "If you have a good enough reason for me not to I won't." I said lightly, "May not be something I like, but I'll be fine." I said, giving it a chance.

[Riley Pearson]

"Would me wanting to spend the rest of my life with you be a good enough reason?" I asked with a sad smile, looking at her.

[Riyann Servansikk]

Looking up at him I smiled lightly, ignoring the tears that still came down, though slower. "Who said you wouldn't?"

I continued looking at her and smiled wiping a few more tears off her face, I shrugged slightly, not wanting to say what I was thinking, What if something happens?.

I sighed and hugged him tight. "I love you." I said, pulling away and kissing him. "If you really don't want," I started to say but stopped, another time maybe unless he wanted to continue with that.

"I love you too" I say looking into her eyes after she kisses me, "If I really don't want?" I asked slowly.

"Me to work with Shelby. I won't actually be in the mist of war." I said, hoping to defend my side.

"It's not that I don't want you working with Shell, and taken you'll still be here, which is a lot better than you leaving for the war..." I say pausing for a moment, "it's just what you'll be doing, that worries me..." I say
