Sage sat solemnly on the very edge of the lake. Her head was buried in her hands, not wanting to look at anything except blackness right now. It'd had been over three months since she had seen any sign of Chris. She had even gone looking for the boy. But he was nowhere to be found.
"What did I do wrong?" She wondered aloud, a tear slipping silently down her cheek.
Her life had felt so alone these past few months. Her sister was a big help, however. But that just wasn't enough. Sage had been away long enough to make everyone wonder if she had just dropped out. Of course, that wasn't the case.

Sage nearly had a heartattack, pulling her head up abruptly. She quickly wiped away the tears, eliminating the need for a hanky of any sort. Obviously her tears weren't meant to be seen, but it was clearly too late.
"Uhm, yeahh.. I-I'm fine..." She said quickly, probably not convincing in the least.

Sage eyed the handkerchief sitting on the ground. She grabbed it and ran off after him. "Oh err... You uhh.. forgot this." She stuttered, sticking out her hand to hand it back to him. Sage wasn't normally like this. Usually, she had the capacity to actually hold someone's attention.
"Sorry about that... Back there..." She trailed, "I'm not having a very good day."
'More like I'm not having a very good month...' Sage thought solemnly to herself.

"Oh..." Sage replied, smiling weakly at him. This really didn't surprise her. She had met quite a few people who could read her thoughts. Sage would just have to be careful about what she let run through her mind. "Sorry," Sage said again, "But thanks for asking if I'm okay and whatnot. I'm Sage by the way, Sage Campbell."

Sage smiled again, glad that she actually had some company now. "Nice to mee you too." She replied. "So what brings you out by the lake?" Sage was trying to change the subject, wanting to get away from the reasons she was here.

"Oh, I'm sorry..." Sage said solemnly. She felt horrible. Here she was, crying over the disappearance of her boyfriend when others were having family troubles. It made her nearly sick with herself. People had plenty worse problems than she did, but obviously failed to see it.

Sage nodded her head slowly and didn't respond. She had no clue what to say, or what could keep the conversation going. Honestly, she wasn't in the mood to talk. But Sage was very glad he was here to keep her company.

Sage smiled weakly and took a deep breath. She had finally calmed down from a few minutes earlier. She really didn't know what else to say, so she shoved her hands into her pockets and swung back and forth on her heels.

"Yeah..." Sage said in sort of a flat tone, "I am." She was pretty straight forward about it. And there was no use hiding it, especially since he had seen her crying. She bit down on her lip, a nervous habit she had.
