Nathan had been standing the same spot for an hour now, completely still. So still he was hardly breathing. His hand was resting ever so slightly on his brothers coffin, as it had been for as long as he'd been standing here. Maybe it'd merge with the wood eventually. So cold, the wood. When he'd come in, he'd managed to look at Jack's empty coffin, and his eyes had skirted briefly over Keira and the twins's coffins as well, but none of these had held his attention. It wasn't that he didn't care, quite the opposite. It was just that this was Noah...his twin...his brother...the other half to his male Dawson-ness. His lips moved in such a small way, making no noise that he wasn't even sure what he'd intended to say, so he just fell back into a state of being still, looking directly at Noah's face. Could have been sleeping, pale and still as usual. His eyelids were closed, but Nathan knew that just beneath them were glossed over eyes identical to his own. He wanted to see them, just once more, but he wasn't sure he was allowed, so he just kept his hand on the wood, imaging he could see his eyes once more. It wouldn't be the same, not if they were still. Noah's eyes always moved, shifting from person to person and measuring them up, full and bright and...alive. Not like this. "Night No-No," He whispered, "Twat."

I walked quietly and slowly up the isle. Jack was a really cool guy, I couldnt belive yet another friend had died. Annie get a hold of yourself. Your not going to cry at this funeral. I shook my head and sighed. Rosie was at home with Taya. I wasn't going to bring her to another funeral. I look up to see a few other coffins besides Jacks and see someone looming over them. I looked at them for a moment before notcing it was Natty. I had only come here for Jack and planned on staying for a few minutes to pay my repects.

Nathan glanced sideways, expecting to see a family member there, but instead Annabell. He removed his hand from his brothers coffin as if it had been electrocuted, uncomfortable with someone he'd befriended as a different person seeing the person he was at the moment. He sent a sort of lopsided, forced smile at her, that looked more pain and grimace-like than anything else.

I smiled weakly at him, knowing he was hurting more about it than I was. I had only known Jack for a few weeks and besides, Natty was his family. I stared at him for a moment, "I'm sorry," I say softly and sit on a nearby pew.

"Me too," He said softly, watching her walk to the pew, then letting his eyes wander back to Noah.

His hands started to shake slightly, anger tightening around his chest, "I don't know. They won't tell me. Won't tell me anything, not how my own brother-..." he cut himself off, before he gets to impassioned about what he's saying and loses control, "I don't know."

I walked to Natty and hug him, "I'm very sorry," I say again.

He stayed still a moment, and then hugged her back, "Don't be, it's not your fault."

"Don't know if that's going to work," He forced a weak smile, "But thank you all the same."

"Shall we talk about something other then the non-living?" I laugh lightly. "I have had enough of funerals." I mumble.

"Yeah," I tear my eyes away from Noah, back to look at her, "Yeah, let's talk...something other than...this."

"Could be better," I nod, perching next to her, "But off the subject of me. How are you?"

"That's good," He tried for a weak smile, absently twisting his hands round each other, "Anything good happening?"

I nodded, "I taught Rosie how to ride a broom. I met this really cool guy. And I think thats it..." I laugh lightly. I look at him for a moment, "Natty I want you to smile again. Not a fake one either. I'm going to make you smile a real smile if it takes all day."

"That's good. How is Rosie?" Then he shrugged slightly, "It's just...so hard. I feel like half of me is missing. It's always been Nate and Noah, Noah and Nate and...now Noah's just..." he waved a hand at the coffin containing his twin's body, "And Jack...he was supposed to...he had his Rose and now she's completely...and Keira was a mum, and poor Charlie, poor Charlie, now he's lost his brother and his sister and he won't leave the house, he just sits in the dark, miserable as sin and there's nothing I can do and they're taking my baby sister from me. She's all I've got and they're taking her away and...it's not fair," He said the last three words quietly, almost ashamed of everything he'd just said.

"She's okay. Just a little torn up about our friends funeral. So your going through a really rough spot in your life. All you need is time. I'm always here but this is your family that I barely know anything about. Your a great friend Natty and all I can do is just be here for you and wait for you to smile again." I say softly and look at my hands.

"Thank you," He said eventually, not even sure why that had helped any. Maybe it was the reassurance that he did have friends outside of his gene pool, because usually when he thought about it his friends only consisted of his cousins. It was better to have someone outside as well.
