I stand on the doorstep to Speare mansion, as I had been doing for precisely seven minutes and fourteen seconds now. Seven minutes, fifteen seconds. Seven minutes, sixteen seconds. Just knock already. Seven minutes, seventeen seconds. I raise my hand to knock on the door then lower it again, shuffling my feet slightly at my own stupidity. Seven minutes, eighteen seconds. Well, what are you supposed to say? MJ, I love you, I miss you, I've been an idiot, please forgive me? Seven minutes, nineteen seconds. Just knock. Seven minutes, twenty seconds. I sigh and lurch my fist forward into the door before I'd have a chance to change my mind then instantly wince and regret it, deciding I should probably leave. Seven minutes, twenty one seconds. I tap my fingers anxiously against my the inside of my jacket pocket, waiting and biting my lip. About seven minutes, twenty five seconds now. How's this? By the time it get's to seven minutes thirty seconds and nothing's happened you turn around and leave and forget this? Sounds good. Seven minutes, twenty six seconds. I bite the inside of my cheek, watching my feet. Seven minutes, twenty seven seconds. I come to the conclusion my feet aren't all that interesting. Seven minutes, twenty eight seconds. The tips of one of my shoe laces is fraying. Incredible the things you notice just watching your shoes. Seven minutes, twenty nine seconds. She's not going to open the door. She doesn't want to speak to you. Go home and maybe make friends with your shoes or something. Seven minutes, thirty seconds. I sigh again and turn round to leave, then stop when I hear the door start to open.

I head down the hall, pulling on my jacket. Well at least I thought it was mine, could be wrong seeing as around six other people were in the house and none of them even bother to hang up their jackets and most of them were littered all over the floor. I tuck a strand of hair behind my ear, heading to the door, pausing when a picture on the wall catches my eye. The one of me and Charlie. You miss him, just go and say your sorry and everything will be okay. I sigh opening the door, pausing when I see who's on the other side. "Hiya." I whisper quietly.

"Hi," I mumble, still looking at my shoes, considering giving them names now and wondering if I should replace that lace or not. I try to look up at her, but my gaze remains firmly on the floor so that all I acheive is being able to look at her shoes now, "Your right shoe lace is fraying," I tell her after a moment, "Mine is too."

I keep my eyes on him, well techinally his head since he was looking down at the floor. "Better replace them then," I mutter, jamming my hands into my pockets. You just gonna stand here? Yes.

"Don't know how happy the other lace would be," I mumble, "Might not want to be split up from each other." So you're just going to discuss shoe laces with her? Yeah. Problem? Oh yeah, a pretty big one. You're an idiot.

"No one likes to be spilt up from the one the hold dear, but it happens sometimes," I reply. But it wasn't suppose to happen to you two. Well it did. Fix it then. Your kindred spirits remember? You got that from Nathan. So?

"It shouldn't do," I reply. Like it shouldn't with us.

"I don't want it to," I mutter, shoving my hands in my pockets. Was that your idea of an apology? Cos it was pathetic. Shut up.

"And I don't want it to either," I mutter, pulling my jacket closer around me,"But it did." But you can fix it! Jane Marie, just say it and get it over with.

Two little words, Charlie. Just two. I'm...sorry...not hard, is it? Yes. I open my mouth to speak, then close it again.

That didn't fix anything, damage has been done. I think, shuffling my feet uncomfortably.

I nod silently, for some reason unable to make the words leave my mouth. But I hoped she'd know what I mean. I hoped she'd know I missed her too.

I blink my eyes rapidly, as I bury my head into his shirt, like I use to when I was younger."Love you Charlie-Doodle."

I keep my arms wrapped around her tightly, not wanting to let go because I'm far too scared to. I know this isn't normal, I know a lot of the things I do now aren't normal for me, like staying inside for weeks but I can't help it. I don't feel normal anymore and I want to tell her all this but I really can't seem to find the words. So I just force myself to let her go, forcing a weak smile onto my face.

I wipe my eyes, feeling slightly childish, before glancing back up at him,"You look different."
