Kaleb stepped out onto the porch, pulling out a cigarette from his jeans pocket, looking for his lighter. He wasn't allowed to smoke in the house cos one, Maddie hated the smell and two, she was pregnant and it was bad for the baby. Baby. He couldn't get over that, not even 18 years old and she was knocked up. Third time as well. He sighs, running a hand through his hair, leaning against the porch, looking out the land. It wasn't that early, nine at least, everyone was still asleep. The family switched off houses, some over at Charlie's and some over here. Himself, along with Jackie, Chase and Noah, and Density were over here while the rest of the family was still shacked up at Charlie's. He sighs, still rummaging around in his jean pocket,"Now where the fuck is that lighter of mine?" He mumbles.

"Here," I mutter, from the other side of the porch, holding out my lighter without looking up at him, instead flicking ash onto the grass. I'd gotten half used to the amount of people in and out of the house, not that I knew all of them in any detail at all, and the voice definitely wasn't familiar but wasn't alarming so there was no harm. I wasn't smoking again...not like before...just every now and again...or so I was telling myself at least.

Kaleb looks up, a bit startled but face not betraying his emotions. He nods, takign the lighter, lighting up and handing it back. His brown hair fell hazily into his eyes, as it often did, as he took a drag and blew the smoke in the opposite directions. By the looks of the guy, he must have been the boyfriend. The father. Kaleb's brow furrows a bit, taking another drag, not saying anything. He'd heard enough about the guy from the rest of the family, some liked him, other's didn't. He, himself, hadn't made up his mind quite yet.

I glance over at him, raising an eyebrow, slightly unnerved at being watched. Can't be too many more and then you'll have met all of them and then at least there will be no more awkward situations like this.

I take another drag, just deciding that this was quite possibly one of the most awkward times of meeting a cousin, second only maybe to the time where I was licked by a fourteen year old Gryffindor.

"Eldest," He nods, leaning against the back wall, watching a leaf out by the tree fall to the ground. He was always like that, watching everything, paying close attention to detail and such. Came in handy a lot, so he found out. "Asleep still?" He asks, nodding up at the house, wondering if anyone, including MJ, were still sleeping. Her nightmares had stopped, at least that what was she kept telling everyone, even if there was the occasional night she still woke up screaming.

Your going to have to say something to him you know, can't just stand there and not talk. "So," He says, trying to think of something to talk about but all that was on his mind was the baby."Er, got a name for it?"

What's with all the question about the baby? You don't even like the fact they're having one at all. He sighs, leaning against the wall again, staring out at the land once more, trying to sort through his thoughts. Unlike the rest of the family, Kaleb actually thought before he spoke.
