I open the door to the house quietly, shutting it almost silently behind me. It was quite early still and I wasn't sure if Maddie would be asleep or not. "Why are we being quiet?" Poppy whispers to me, tugging slightly on my hand. I'd got back home this morning, after...'speaking' with Logan and was still moving gingerly from the crucios when Rowan had shoved Poppy at me and told me to take her elsewhere for a while because I hadn't seen her enough lately. "We're playing the silent game, remember?" I mumble. She nods and puts a finger to her lips. "Good girl," I mutter, picking her up tiredly and going through to the living room, sitting down heavily with her on my lap. There's a moments silence then she pokes me and laughs quietly, her hand over her mouth to muffle it, "Uncle Ian's being boring," She remarks to no one. "Uncle Ian is dying," I mutter under my breath. She gasps and looks at me with wide-eyes. "No, not dying dying. I'm not dying, Papillon," I say hastily, having forgotten she didn't quite understand figures of speech yet. She glares at me and clambers up off my lap so she's standing on my knee and is face to face, "Well, it wasn't a very nice thing to say." I laugh softly and glare right back at her. She tries to glare again, but just giggles and sits down again, "Don't like you." I stick my tongue out at her, "Don't like you either."

"What's with the whole not liking each other?" I laugh, leaning against the door frame. "Hiya Poppyseed." I grin.

"She started it," I reply, laughing slightly and looking behind me. "No, you did!" She yells at me, then gets up and runs over to Maddie, "He's dying." "It's a figure of speech!"

I raise an eyebrow, before picking her up,"Oh he is, is he?" I ask,"Well then Poppyseed, you know what that means then? You get his bed." I laugh.

"Cos he's trying to keep it from you." I laugh,"And your welcome, it's what I'm here for." I grin, setting her back down on the ground.

She glares at me again, then runs behind Maddie, "I'm not talking to you!" "That's okay, I could do with some peace and quiet." I reply, managing to keep straight faced. She remains silent. "You're here to make my-" I falter for a moment, "her hate me? What a productive use you have there."

"Thanks, glad you think so," I laugh. She walks back in front of her, but stays close, still shooting me a dirty look and not saying a word, but grinning slightly.

I laugh softly, as she grabs onto my leg burying her head into it. "Go on Poppyseed, show him your new pirate trick." I smile pushing her forward.

She grins wickedly and gives an exaggerated nod, before turning back to Maddie, "I'm still not talking to him." She says in a stage whisper.

"Oh?" I laugh,"Okay then you don't have to talk to him if you don't want to." I smile ruffling her hair,"You hungry? Or did your dad and Uncle Ian remember to feed you this time?"

"Wasn't my turn today," I mutter. "Morgan made me breakfast today. But she burnt her finger and said her favourite word that makes Uncle Scott laugh and Daddy says I'm not allowed to say. But Uncle Ian is one according to Uncle Scott and then Daddy got mad and told him to go away. Only he didn't say it like that."

"I didn't do anything. I wasn't even home this morning." I laugh. "But you taught me that skank word. But it's okay, daddy explained what it was." She smiles, "Do you have a cardboard box?" She asks Maddie.

"Whoops!" She says loudly, as she knocks something over, "I didn't break it! It's okay!" "You alright, Papillon?" I call into the kitchen. "Yep!" I laugh slightly and kiss her back, "Didn't go to bed. Was out."

"Don't?" She smiles innocently, sticking her head back round the door, then answering for me, "Uncle Ian went out to get...um...I forgot but Daddy says it was important. And Uncle Scott said it was stupid. And Morgan said it was awful and she isn't talking to him either-..." "Enough," I cut in sharply. "I just went to see...Logan." I shrug, deciding to be honest, Went to get revenge on Logan, and I did, it just doesn't feel as good as I thought it would.

"Good job Poppyseed." I laugh then freeze as he mentions Logan's name. That pang of guilt rising in my chest again."Oh..so he's alive then?"

"Yeah, he's alive," I say, expressionlessly. Poppy glances between us uneasily, then throws her arms up in the air, "Boo!"

"Oh." I say not really surprised seeing as I was the first to find out. Yeah and who can forget you slept with the bastard too. My throat becomes unusally dry, the guilt rising. I jump slightly, forcing a smile,"Nearly scared me there Poppyseed."

I watch her carefully but don't say anything, instead grinning at Poppy and picking her up, "Terrifying, Papillon." I tell her, laughing slightly, "You talking to me again yet?" She sighs mock heavily, "Okay."
