"If I have any to start with." I laugh, kicking open the fridge, and bending down to see in it, moving bottles of firewhiskey aside.
"I have...actually, I wouldn't eat that...that looks like it's going to start twitching any minute now...I have bread." I announce. "Yeah, that's about it. Bread. We could always eat Melvin, but I don't think Gertrude would like that. Shall we go find food someplace else?"
