Bella had been at home for a while now, she just felt fair too tired to go back to school right now. And she didn't want to put her or her...baby's lives in any danger. She lay lazily on the sofa, the bump of her stomach was huge now, just one more month to go. Sometimes she actually felt herself looking forward to having a baby. Especially more recently.

See, you'll learn to love it.

She sighed and pushed her hair away from her face. It was late and Kim was in bed. Bella knew she should go up soon as well. She knew Kim would be up early in the morning.

Gabriel walked up the path to his cousin's home. He didn't really know why he hadn't checked here earlier. He supposed it was because he wanted to think that she'd be getting on with her life at school. She wasn't really the type to stay indoors on her own, and that's why this was the last place he was to check. Yeah, that was his reason.

Or are you just scared that when you see her she'll be broken?

He knocked on the door hard with his knuckles. He hoped that she'd still be awake, he didn't want to be the one to wake her up. He stood on the doorstep waiting patiently for someone to open the door. If there was anyone in. There was still a chance that she wasn't here. That he just kept missing her at Hogwarts.

Bella sat up when she heard the loud knock on the door. She reached for her wand, just in case, and stood up slowly. Moving about was getting harder now with her ever-growing stomach. She waddled to the door and hesitated before opening it, cluching her wand tightly.

Can't be too careful.

She opened the door a little bit too see who it was. She was so shocked when she did see that she gasped loudly and accidentily letting go of the door, letting it snap shut again. She quickly opened it wide and dived on her cousin in a big hug.
"I can't believe it's you!" She gasped again, her voice muffled slightly by his shirt.

Gabriel grinned as the door opened a tiny bit, and he saw his cousin's eye peeking out. He chuckled when he heard the gasp and watched as she let go of the door. He wasn't surprised when he saw the door swing open and clung to his baby cousin as she hugged him tightly, picking her up off the floor slightly. "Believe it, it's me Izzybelle." He smiled into her hair.

Nothing like a family reunion.

After a few moments he placed her back on her feet so he could look at her properly. She had dyed her hair. It was blonde now, where it had been brown before. He grinned at her widely. Then he noticed something strange. Her stomach was huge. But not like she had put on weight but like she was....
"Pregnant! You're pregnant! Bloody hell, i knew you would have changed after a year but..." He didn't finish his sentance, he was far too shocked. He couldn't believe it, his baby cousin was going to have her own baby. He ran his hand through his hair. He hadn't expected this.

Bella did believe him. She was just so surpised he was here. They hadn't seen or even spoken to each other in over a year. But she was so glad to see him. He was by far her favorite relative. "I'm so happy to see you Gabriel." She said softly, close to tears. But they were happy tears.

You're not supposed to cry when you're happy.

She felt her feet touch the floor again and watched her cousin step back. She noticed his hair had gotten long again, and it made her smile. She watched his mouth drop open in shock when he saw her stomach and she bit her lip, hoping he would be angry. "Yeah i am." She confirmed quietly, her gaze dropping to her feet for a moment. "Eight months on." She added, glancing back up at him.

He thumbed away the tears that were starting to slip down his cousin's cheeks. "I'm happy to see you to." He smiled warmly.

She was always the one that cried.

After a few moments his shocked face broke into the widest grin he had worn since he had been back at Hogwarts. "That's fantastic!" He beamed and stepped forwards, wrapping his arms around his cousin again, but not as tightly as before, he didn't want to put pressure on her stomach, he was still shocked, but he was happy for his cousin. "I do have one question to ask though." He said letting go of her and studying her face. "Okay, maybe more than one, but this is the most important. Can i be it's Godfather?" He asked with a wide smile.

Bella's face broke into a huge smile when he grinned widely. She was relieved he wasn't angry, and happy to see that grin on his face again. She held onto him tightly as he hugged her again, wiping her tears on his shirt like she always used to do.

Messy kid you were.

At his question she laughed softly. "Of course you can. I was going ot ask you to be anyway." She grinned. "What are the other questions?" She asked, though she already had an idea of what they were.

Gabriel smiled and looked down at his shirt where she'd wiped her tears. "You always do that." He chuckled, remembering all the times she had done it when they were little. It was a habit that would never die. And he hoped it wouldn't either. It was a reminder of how close they were.

At least she doesn't blow her nose on you anymore.

He beamed at her answer, glad that he was some kind of father now. He chuckled at her next question. "Well, who's the father?" He asked, though he had a good idea who. He just hoped it didn't upset his cousin much, that her kid would grow up without a dad.

"And always will." Bella replied with a smile. She bit her lip at his question, trying not to be sad. "Gideon Prewett." She answered in a whisper. She still found it hard to say his name, even after so long. The thought of him still cut her insides to pieces. The thought of their child growing up without him, that he would never get to meet it, was the thing that upset her most though. Truely did cut her deep.

Gabriel nodded at her reply, his guesses confirmed. Once again he opened his arms and held his cousin close to him, knowing she needed it. But he was sad that he would never be able to give her what she wanted most. He tried to imagine how much pain she was in, and grimaced at the thought. The fact that she was hurting so bad, hurt him too. When she felt pain, he felt it too. He wished so much that he had come back sooner, when she had needed him most.

I'm so sorry Belle.

"I want you to know that i'm here for you Belle." He whispered into her hair. "I'm going to help you. Nothing can hurt you anymore." He promised, holding her tightly. "I promise. I'm not going to let you hurt anymore."

Bella held Gabriel close and let her tears fall freely. She had needed this. Needed this for a long time. For so long she had pretended she was okay, told herself that she was okay. That life could be worse. That people had been in more pain than she had been. But she hadn't given herself enough time. She had held it in for too long. Having Gabriel back made her realise that.

You can't hide from yourself.

She nodded at his promise. Knowing he would do anything to protect her.They were closer than cousins. He was more of a big brother, as well as a best friend. She was all the family she needed. And after the death of her mother, of Matthew, of Fabian and Gid. She needed him alot.

Family will always be there.

Her eyes widened in shock and she gasped as a sudden flash of pain went across her stomach.

Not now, it's too early.

She let go of her cousin and clutched her stomach. It couldn't be, not now. But she knew it was true as she felt her waters break. "Gabriel, i need to go to St. Mungos." She gasped, looking at him with scared eyes

Gabriel's mouth opened in shock for the second time as she suddenly let go of him and clutched at her stomach. He tried to tell himself that it wasn't what he thought it was.

Too soon, she said she was eight months.

At her next words he nodded and stepped towards her, getting ready to apparate her to the wizarding hospital. Somewhere she obviously needed to go right now. "Okay let's go." He said, the shock noticable in his voice.

Isabella was about to let him apparate her to St. Mungos when she remembered Kim. She put her hands up quickly to stop him. "Wait! What about Kim?" She asked. Then seeing his confused expression quickly explained. "She was Gid's little girl, he wanted me to look after her." She said, hoping he'd understand.

Gabriel looked at her with a confused expression when she mentioned the name Kim, he had no clue who she was. After Bella mentioned that she was Gid's child, he understood. Remembering what Yumi had told him. "Right erm, do we take her to the hospital? Do you have someone who could look after her now?" He asked.

This is so surreal.

It was strange that his cousin now was going to have a child before he was. Although they both loved kids. He had always shown a bigger sign that he couldn't wait to have his own.

Bella thought for a moment about whether any of her friends could take her for now. Then she remembered how late it was and shook her head. "Most of them have their own kids, and it's late." She replied, starting to walk inside when another contraction hit her, and she clutched her stomach and gasped in pain.

Forget that labour hurts?

"Gabriel, could you wake her up please?" She asked. "And reassure her that you're not a monster, otherwise she won't come." She added, remembering that Kim had convinced herself that a monster was coming to get her.

"Right." Gabriel nodded and started to head indoors quickly. He bounded up the stairs and checked the spare room, guessing that it was now Kim's room. He opened the door and was proved right. There in the little bed was a very small young girl, fast asleep.

Don't scare her now.

He walked over to the bed and knelt down so he wouldn't appear to be so tall. "Kim, Kim!" He whispered quickly hoping that it would be enough to wake her. Kim opened her eyes slowly and looked at him. "Are you a monster?" She asked with a scared expression. Gabriel shook his head and smiled softly. "No i'm not, don't be scared. I'm your-...mum's cousin." He replied, not really knowing how else to explain. "Mummy Isa?" She asked. He nodded in reply. "She's got to go to the hospital now and we have to go with her." He explained, hoping the little girl would understand. "Is the baby here?" Kim asked, looking at him with wide eyes. "Nearly." Gabriel replied and held out his arms for her. Kim climbed into his arms and held onto his shirt tightly as he stood up, holding onto her firmly and walking quickly downstairs. "Right, shall we go?" He asked Bella.

Bella sat down on her low garden wall and held her stomach, breathing deeply. She hoped nothing was going wrong. That it was just early. She hoped it would be alright.

What if you lost it?

Bella shook her head to get rid of the thought. After a few minutes she heard Gabriel coming back down the stairs. She saw him walk out the front door and she locked it behind him. She nodded in response to his question and wrapped her arms around him, waiting for him to apparate them all the St. Mungos.
