"That's true," I nod. "And then, out into a world that judges graduates constantly by which house they belonged to and how pure their blood is." I shake my head again.

"Its life," I shrug. "My own family does that enough."

"Everyone does it, really," I shrug. "Whether they hate all non-purebloods or assume that being pureblood makes you stuck up."

I nodded in agreement. "I have been guilty of that..." I mumble.

"Which one?" I ask curiously, glancing at her. "I certainly won't judge you... not for that."

"Assuming that most purebloods are stuck up."

"Ah," I nod, shrugging. "Which is actually not a bad assumption... most of us are." I smile slightly.

"Exactly but like you said it's still judging."

"I know," I nod. "Still not as bad as it could be."

"Everyone has to have some kind of prejudice... some way of placing other people into categories, because it's impossible to process everything about them the first time you meet them," I shrug, remembering a book I'd read. "If you're capable of changing your mind, then there's nothing wrong with prejudice."

I was taking in everything he said, still staring at him. "I don't get it. Why aren't you in Ravenclaw?"

I stare back at her a moment, then sigh and look up at the ceiling briefly. "Why does everyone ask that?" I ask the ceiling rhetorically, then shrug and look back at her. "Because I was a very vengeful child who wanted to hurt people and get his way through any means necessary," I say. "The hat didn't hesitate."

Post by Isabella Parker on Jan 5, 2008 21:47:38 GMT
I nodded, "If the ceiling doesn't mind me answering its question, its mainly because your smart," I shrug. "And you don't really seem like that now. Just wondering though."

I shake my head. "No, I've changed... at least a little." I smile slightly. "Sorry about talking to the ceiling... which, incidentally, seems very shy, and usually seems to appreciate it when people answer for it... but I've been getting that question... more often than I'd like. And I usually try to phrase what I said to you a tad more tactfully." I shrug.

"You know, I don't know." I frown slightly. "As stupid as it is to do so, I find myself telling you the truth about things rather than a safe version." I shrug.
((Quite all right... I've been looking at it too. Who are you?))

"Even though half the time it's not so much trust as, 'to hell with it, I'm in trouble anyway'?" I ask. "Or is that being too honest? I hope I can trust you." ((Ooh... that's a lot of responsibility. Lucky you though. And I'm gonna go now 'cause I've been online all day... see you.))

"No it relly isn't." I smile slightly. "But dangerous things never should be." (( Yick. I know I need to get started... but first I'm going to do this... and this... lol.))

"Thats true," I say with a light laugh. "So trusting is a dangerous thing then?"

|
|
Post by Fitzy Patricks on Jan 7, 2008 21:57:24 GMT
"Of course it is, in most cases," I raise my eyebrows slightly. "If it turns out I really can't trust you, I'll be even more screwed than I am already. And yet I trust you anyway. Dangerous, yes?"
