This Is Not A Home

"This is not a home." I mutter to myself, slinging my bag off my shoulder and onto the sofa of the room I'd rented in a muggle inn.
I pause, then cross the room to the window, opening it and leaning on the sill to look out at the street below, and the opposite block of flats surrounded by houses.
All those people had homes.
This was not a home.

I knocked softly on the door."This should be the place," I mutter.
I had heard that Erin was staying somewhere around here.
She seemed very familar to me and not just when Ian talked about her.
I felt-as if I had met her somewhere else; a long time ago.

[Erin Row]

I jump as someone knocks on the door, then hurriedly duck back into the room closing the window again and pulling at the door handle.
Which promptly falls off in my hand.
This place was a dump alright.
I use my wand to open the door.
"Hey." I smile at Maddie.

[Madeline Speare]

"Hi." I smile weakly,"Sorry to bother you."

[Erin Row]

"No bother. Want to come in?"

[Madeline Speare]

"Sure," I nod walking in and looking around."Um nice place very-oh who am I kidding?" I laugh alightly,"Erin I'm sorry this place is a dump."

[Erin Row]

"Tell me about it." I roll my eyes. "This shit heap is the only place I could find at short notice though." I laugh.

[Madeline Speare]

I look around."Your not staying with family?" I ask.

[Erin Row]

"My family aren't interested." I say, "They don't care. Funny really, I sacrificed everything, 'died' for them, and they don't give a-...well, let's just keep it as a no, I'm not staying with family."

[Madeline Speare]

"Oh, sorry to hear that," I say and look through my bag,"Here this is for you," I say handing her a paper bag.

[Erin Row]

"Erm...thanks?" I say, looking at the bag. "Why have I got a paper bag?"

[Madeline Speare]

"It's got the medicine you need to get better, I forgot to give it to you in the hopsital, it'll help dull some of the pain," I say.

[Erin Row]

"Ah, thanks." I smile, putting it on the unbalanced table in the 'living' room of this place, so I wouldn't forget about it.

[Madeline Speare]

"It's no problem," I smile weakly,"So Erin would you mind telling me what happened?" I ask carefully as so not to upset he.

[Erin Row]

"If it's not going to go any further." I say, meaning that I didn't want her to tell Ian.

[Madeline Speare]

I shake my head,"Of course not, this stays between doctor and patient,"

[Erin Row]

"It's kind of a long story." I say, after a moment.

[[grr...got to go. got to go home and we've got no internet. have to use 'ian's computer. lol. and he's kicking me off anyway. bye.]]

[Madeline Speare]

"I've got time," I smile.

[Erin Row]

I decide for the short version, not really wanting to go into anything else. "Death eaters. I've spent the last six months with angry death eaters. In a compressed version of events."

[Madeline Speare]

"Spending time with death eaters, that must have been fun," I say sarcastically rolling my eyes.

[Erin Row]

"Oh yeah," I snort, sarcastically. "My wildest dream come true."

[Madeline Speare]

"So what else happened?"

[Erin Row]

"What else?" I ask, "What do you mean what else?"

[Madeline Speare]

"Erin there has got to be more to say," I say tucking a stray strand of hair behind my ear."Your injuries; what caused them?"

[Erin Row]

"Nothing else. They-...they were just very pissed off. I didn't do what I was told." I smile shakily, dismissing the memory.

[Madeline Speare]

I bite my bottom lip,"Alright, then."

[Erin Row]

"You don't believe me, do you?"

[Madeline Speare]

"I do..." I sigh. I couldn't lie to her."No Erin, I'm sorry I don't."

[Erin Row]

"I didn't think you did."

[Madeline Speare]

"You don't have to tell me, I just...I want you to get better Erin."
