Much as she wanted to, she wasn't going anywhere.

"Well, she has a father. And he's a wonderful man. But he left with the war 2 days before I even found out about her. He's back now, but happy. I don't want to ruin everything and turn up with her and tell him." I smile sadly. "So we manage."
