Night on the grounds

I walked outside with Riley by me and lay the blanket I brought across the ground before laying down, curling my coat up as a pillow.

I throw my jacket back on as she lays down on the blanket. Once it's on, I sit down and lie next to her, "It's really pretty out tonight" I say looking from the starry sky to her, just like you...

I nodded in agreement and instinctivily moved closer to Riley. Great, now I'm cold.

I put one of my arms behind my head and noticed that she was shivering slightly. Without really thinking I sat up and shook my jacket off again, laying it ontop of her, "You looked cold..." I said with a slight smile, as I laid back down and looked up at the moon.

"Thanks." I said slowly, mentally slapping myself. I made myself comfertable and looked up at the sky some more. "It is pretty."

[Riley Pearson]

"No problem" I told her smiling looking at her for a moment longer than I had planned, "Yeah..." I said looking back up, "The moon's really full tonight..."

I smiled and then heard something howling in the forest, for once feeling helpless. I grabbed Riley's hand in mine and looked half at the forest over Riley and half at him. Pussy.

[Riley Pearson]

I heard the howling to and I let her hold onto my hand as I looked over at the forest.
"I'm sure that it's nothing" I told her trying to sound reassuring and attempting to ignore the noise. Just in case I reach over to my jacket, which was resting on top of Riyann and I reached in the pocket to get out my wand, "Just in case" I said quickly, "I'm sure we're safe though"

I smiled and relaxed a bit more. "Okay." I kept my gaze on Riley and my hand in his before looking back at the sky.

I blushed slightly after she looked back up at the sky and I breathed in some fresh air, "So... When's your birthday?" I ask her randomly not really knowing why I asked.

[Riyann Servansikk]

"Uh," I said, momentarily forgetting my own birthday. "January 3rd. Your's?"

[Riley Pearson]

I smiled before answering, "August 12th... so you're gonna be... 17 next year then?" I ask her not being able to think of anything interesting to talk about.
I bet this is really boring her...

[Riyann Servansikk]

"Actually, I am 17. The whole home schooled thing got me behind so they just put me in 6th year to help me catch up." I said and looked over at him. I'm full of surprises.

[Riley Pearson]

"That's cool though" I say nodding my head, "At least you have more time to figure out what you want to do.." I add looking over at her with a smile.

[Riyann Servansikk]

"I already know. I want to fight and help end this war, not just sit back and watch it happen, pretending that people don't die. I want to," I said, ending shortly. And now he thinks I'm insane to want to be a peice of the war.

[Riley Pearson]

I noticed how abruptly she ended and smiled slightly, "That's really brave of you..." I tell her once she finishes, "I'd like to help to... but there's a reason I'm not in Gryffindor" I say chuckling faintly, just then realizing that she was still holding onto my hand.

"Gryffindor isn't just about being brave you know. There is a reason." I said laughing lightly. I still like you. "I'm not that brave either otherwise I'd already be out there, not here." I say, sighing loudly.

[Riley Pearson]

"Yes you are" I told her looking back over at her, "If you weren't, you probably wouldn't want to go at all" I said with a smile, "It's probably best that you stay here for a while anyway"

[Riyann Servansikk]

"I guess, the more I learn the better or else I'm dead before I can say cheeze." I smiled lightly and looked over at Riley. It still doesn't change my mind of thinking.

My smile faltered slightly and I was quiet for a second, "Um.. yeah, I guess so" I said soflty.
Why didn't I meet her a few weeks sooner?

[Riyann Servansikk]

It was quiet for a while and I just let the silence fall over me. "We don't have the same thoughts on all of this, but I know what I'm doing." I said quietly.

[Riley Pearson]

I nod my head slightly and look over at her, "I beleive that you do, I just... can't help but feel worried..." I look away for a second and then back into her eyes, "even though you're still here" I add with a small chuckle.

[Riyann Servansikk]

"I don't think I'll be leaving for a while, but if I do, you'll know where I'll be." I said almost saddly. Now I don't want to leave, but it will be soon. I thought to myself.

[Riley Pearson]

"I will?" I asked her with a sad chuckle, moving my hand so it was holding hers, "How will I know?"

[Riyann Servansikk]

"I'll be gone without saying goodbye." I said and held onto his hand tighter. How depressing.

[Riley Pearson]

My eyes widened slightly, "You're just gonna leave?" I asked her moving my thumb across her hand as I hold it.

I decided to leave it at that and pulled my hand away. I rolled onto my side, my back to Riley. Sorry?

She turned away from me without saying a word and I didn't know what to say, what to do, anything, "How.. um.. how long is a while?" I asked her softly looking at the back of her head.

[Riyann Servansikk]

"Soon, maybe?" I didn't want him to know, and I didn't actually know myself. "Whenever I can." I added.

[Riley Pearson]

"Oh" I said quietly before pausing for a few moments not knowing what to add. "Hey" I said placing my hand on her shoulder, "You gonna look at me anymore?" I asked her with a sad chuckle.
