Angel closed her eyes, biting her lip softly, and made her wish.

I opened my eyes to see Angel with her eyes shut. Smiling, I put a comforting arm around her shoulders and rubbed her arm softly.

Angel opened her eyes again and smiled at him warmly. "Thanks," she whispered. "What did you wish for?"

"I can't tell you just yet," I smiled. "If it comes true though I promise I'll let you know."

"Okay," Angel nodded, smiling. "I can't tell you mine otherwise it won't come true. Is it sad to believe in stuff like that?"

"Not at all."
I looked up at the sky where the star had just shot past us.
"Everyone's entitled to their beliefs."

"Good," Angel nodded, smiling and looking up at the sky with him. "Because I actually do believe that."

"Then I think your wish will come true."

"Doubtful," Angel laughed. "My wish was something impossible. Something that can't ever be done."

"Nothing is impossible. I'll show you."
I searched in my blazer pocket and produced a small, blue ball. I held it out to Angel.
"Take it."

Angel looked at him and took it slowly. "What is it?"

"It's a ball." I laughed.

"You don't say," Angel sighed, rolling her eyes. "I thought it was a fish."

I laughed with Angel before taking off my fingerless gloves and rolling my blazer sleeves up.
"Okay. Do you have a pen?"

Angel walked over to the teacher's desk and got a pen for him. "Here," she said curiously.

"It's for you. Write something, anything you want, on the ball. Then I want you to hold it tight in your hand. As tight as possible."

Angel nodded and wrote You were the biggest mistake of my life on it. She held it tightly and watched Vincent. "What's supposed to happen?"

"You're so sure that impossibility exists?" I asked, standing up and circling Angel, who was holding the ball tightly in her hand out in front of her.
"That would mean that, without touching you, it would be impossible for me to have that ball you just wrote on, correct?"

"Technically, yes," Angel nodded. "Why??"

I smiled.
Turning around quickly I threw my arm in the direction of the teacher's desk. There came a small thud from the empty waste parchment bin next to the desk.
I walked over to it and picked it up, carrying it back to Angel.
Still smiling, I held it up revealing a small, blue ball rolling around inside it. I picked it out and looked at it.
"You were the biggest mistake of my life." I read, smiling. "Open your hand."

Angel looked at him in shock and opened her hand slowly.

"I thought it was impossible for me to have the ball?" I asked, still smiling.

"I-it was," Angel stuttered, still looking at him in shock. "But how did you? I mean, what did you? How? What? Ahh!"

I laughed at the cute confused look on Angel's face.
"How I did it isn't important." I chuckled, "What is important is that I proved that what you thought was impossible really wasn't."

"Wow," Angel mumbled. "Unfortunately, the wish is still impossible." Should I tell him? I mean, what harm can it cause? "My wish was... To find someone who wouldn't cheat or lie and be there when I need him. To find love that's so strong that nothing could break it. And for me, that's impossible."

I leant against the wall and bounced the ball on the floor a couple of times.
"I don't understand..." I said with a curious look on my face. "What makes that impossible?"

"My luck," Angel shrugged, smiling sadly. "Every guy I've been with has turned out to be a disaster."

"So you think all guys are like that?"

"Not at all," Angel replied instantly. "My friends have all found great guys. I just attract the bad ones, I guess."

"Hmmm..."
I bounced the ball another couple of times.
"So why do you think that is?" I asked. "Catch!"
I tossed the ball to Angel and held out of hands ready for the return throw.
