Carrie followed the guard wizard down the many halls of Azkaban, shifting uncomfortably in her best clothes.
Her mother had not been willing to allow her to meet her father, but she'd relented, making her appear at her best.
"Leigh!" The guard barks into a cell.
Carrie jumped, peering closer slightly as she saw movement inside.
"There you go, miss. Just give a shout if he's any trouble." The guard says and then carries on down the hall.
She stepped a little closer to the bars.
"Um...hello...my name is Car-..."
"Carrie Leigh, formerly Carrie Dreyer until you found out your real surname." Comes the low rasped reply, "I know."
"Then you'll know why-..."
"You're here? Yes. I know. You've come to meet your father. Well, you're looking at him." He laughs bitterly.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, sir." She says quietly, although it really wasn't.
He wasn't a bit how she expected.
She paused, then launch straight into what she wanted to ask..."Why are you in here? You are innocent, aren't you?"
There's a pause, and then he starts laughing, a low rasp, bordering on hysteria. "There is no innocent, love. No innocent or good no guilty or evil. If you mean, did I do what they said I did? Yeah. I'm a murderer. They got what was coming to them."
She took a step back immediately, at his words.
He really wasn't how she expected.
"But, of course, you'll know all about giving people what's coming to them. I heard what you've set out to do, daughter."
"Oh? And what's that then?" She says defiantly.
He beckons her closer.
She obliged slightly, leaning a little closer to the bars.
"Revenge. Revenge for your brother, who you never even met. Revenge for your boyfriend who you loved with everything you had. I can point you in the right direction...Carrie."
"You know who killed them?" She asks immediately.
He smirks then says one word, and one word only, "Hunt."
She froze. "Like Rowan?"
He doesn't say anything.
"Father...?"
"We're finished here." He says softly, then disappears back into the dark of his cell.
She paused a minute, and then starts walking back the way she'd come.
Hunt.
She'd find Hunt.
And he'd get what was coming.
And if she ended up in here just like her father, then so be it.
