I sit cross-legged in the courtyard in the pouring rain. I'd felt more and more like coming out of the house since my weeks of seclusion. I didn't feel much like interacting with people, my family in particular, but I did feel up to being outside for once. This thought almost makes me smile, and my mouth flicks a little at the edges briefly before settling back to it's now normal position. I glance upwards at the sky. I didn't feel cold, even though the rain water was freezing, even through the bitter December wind. No, I felt calm and cool and fresh. Rejuvinated. Blinking a few times to clear my eyes I look back down again and around the courtyard, shifting my legs into a more comfortable but still cross-legged position. The whole place was deserted, like all the students had melted into the walls at the first sign of rain. This thought amuses me for a moment, but not for long and I quickly fall back into miserable boredom. I sigh softly, murmuring, "Om." Which again amuses me for just a moment, before once again, the small flicker of a smile or laughter disappears before it takes hold.

Yumi walked around the school, having her arms crossed infrotn of her. It was as if she was holding herself together. She couldn't believe this. She didn't want to. He was gone. They ahd taken her baby by from her. Her Brett Mia and Fay were both still at the flat with Sirius. As the rain got hardered and fell faster, Yumi got an idea. She took her coat off, and set it on the dry ground before she walked out. Yumi stood there for a few moments then looked up at the gray sky. This was the first time she had felt anything since Brett's parents came and took him with him. She felt every single cold drop of water as it fell against her skin. She ran a hand through her, now soaked, hair and closed her eyes for a moment. Yumi smiled weakly. The smile faded slowly off her face, as she looked down at her arms. They were now just a light pink scar. Some of them still had the red tint to it, as if the blood was waiting to seep through. She could still see each cut clearly, as it ran all up the underside of her arm. But Yumi didn't care. She couldn't give a care about anything. She just stood there in the rain, her arms at her side with a smile smile on her face.

I tilt my head, as I watch the girl walk out into the rain without a coat, and just stand there with a smile on her face. This almost makes me smile, at how free she looks, but it doesn't last because then she reminds me of Grace and Grace reminds me of Jen and then my whole world will come crashing down around me once again if I think of the family that I used to have and I won't allow my world to crash down again when I've only just rebuilt it. So I drop my gaze, twisting my hands around each other idly. You're doing it again. The anxiety will come back. The depression will come back. It's never left you Charlie. Do something. Save yourself. "Hey!" I call over to her, in a desperate bid to stop myself slipping away. If I can cling to conversation I won't slip away. I immediately regret this, as I haven't spoken to anyone but Nate in weeks, and I'm not sure if this is the best idea but it's too late now.

Yumi stands there for a few moments then hears someone call over to her. She looks over and sees a man sitting in the rain, and she quickly wraps her arms around herself in order to cover her arms. So much for not careing... She looked at him, as the smile faded ever so slight. "Hey..." She calls back and wonders if she should walk over to him or make a quick trip to go back and get her coat.

My stomach tightens slightly as I watch her smile slip slightly and I drop my gaze again, not sure if I should say anything back because I've already done something wrong. Do you see what you do Charlie? See what you do? "Uh...sorry!" I call over to her, getting to my feet and brushing myself down, intending to leave her alone.

Look what you did Yumi. Nice one. "No, no. It's not you it's-..." She calls over and decides to keep her arms around her and walks over to him slowly. "It just isn't you. I'm-..." She stops again. Angry? Hurt? Sad? "Not having a very good day, and didn't think anyone else was out here." She finished. "It's not you." She says again.

"No, it's alright. I shouldn't really talk to people when they look like they want to be on my own. Purely by idiocy, don't worry about it," I reply, trying for a reassuring smile but failing miserably at pulling it off as I zip up my hoodie again and pull the hood up over my already soaking wet hair.

You don't sem the type to do idiotic thing." Yumi said with a weak smile, hoping and praying it didn't turn out a grimace. "What did you say you're name was again?" She asked, even though she kenw he hadn't said it to begin with.

"Appearances can be deceptive then," I reply, a weak attempt at a joke, slipping my hands into my pockets and clenching them with anxiety. You're talking to people. Person. One person...but it's still...better than before. "Uh, oh, sorry, Charlie. I'm Charlie," I remove one hand from my pocket, half shaking it in a vague attempt to dry it even though it's still raining and hold it out to her to shake.

"True, true." She said with a weak smile. Yumi looked down at his hand for just a few moments trying to decided weather or not to take the chance. "It's okay. I'm Yumi." She said and shook his hand briefly before wrapping her arm back around herself.

"Nice to meet you Yumi," I say bracingly, slipping my hand back into my pocket again, directing the remark at her but looking slightly above her head to avoid eye contact.

Yumi looks at him for a few moments tehn relizes that he isn't look at her. "Yeah..." She muttered and wrapps her arms around her tighter digging her nails into her sides lightly. "Any reason you were sitting in the rain?"

"Refreshing," I reply, nodding slightly for a reason unbeknown to me, "The rain, I mean. It's sort of...cleansing." My voice is becoming slightly hoarse again and I have to cough to clear my throat, "What were you doing out here in the rain?"
