Sitting

[Joanna Miller]

I sat in silence in the courtyard, cross-legged, watching everyone else walk around with friends.
I didn't know nor care where my friends were, we were different now, I wish we weren't, but I'd made it so.
Absently, I rub along the flesh of my left forearm where the dark mark was seared into my skin but concealed with several charms so no one would know or see it, apart from the other death eaters I'd met.
I sigh quietly to myself, watching, listening, to people with their friends.

I sit down by Joanna. "Hello Joanna"

[Joanna Miller]

I smile slightly. "Hello, um...do I know you?"

[Ricky Jamison]

"No, I'm Ricky, Ricky Jamison. Erm..I need to talk to you about what you are" I add the last part quietly.

[Joanna Miller]

I jump, heart starting to beat faster. "Oh. Um...why do you want to talk about it? Another gryffy hater?" I add bitterly.

[Ricky Jamison]

"No," I say hastily, "I just want to make sure that you're truly on our side."

[Joanna Miller]

"Who's orders? His?"

[Ricky Jamison]

I nod.

[Joanna Miller]

"What kind of proof would you like? Is it not enough that I chose to turn up at HQ, even though my friends are all on the other side? What would you like me to say to make you believe I'm loyal?" I ask, voice very quiet so that only he could hear.
In truth, I was terrified that anyone else would find out.
Especially Ange, she was my best friend.
She was in the Order.

"I just wanted to make sure. And, er not to be rude or anything, but what made you join the Him?"

[Joanna Miller]

"My brother." I say honestly. "Nathan Miller." I say slightly bitterly. "Model death eater he was. He died. Murdered, by the Order. He wanted me to 'follow in his footsteps', so I am. Not to mention, revenge would be a pretty sweet fruit right now." I smile wryly. "What about you? I know, you're supposed to be questioning me, but thought I'd ask anyway. Two-way kind of thing."

[Ricky Jamison]

"My father. He sort of said 'Join or I'll kill your siblings, your mother and you' sort of thing. I believe him. He nealry killed my mum once"

[Joanna Miller]

"I'm sorry." I say honestly. "My parents are both dead, so they don't have any influence. It was always my brother who was there for me, I don't quite agree with some of the things he did, but he's my brother. He was murdered, he was stolen from me. So, I'm doing what he wanted for me. Good enough for you?"

[Ricky Jamison]

"Yes, I believe you and that you won't betray us. That's all I needed to know Joanna." I say with a slight smile. "So...do you like Quidditch?" I ask trying to change the subject.

[Joanna Miller]

"Yep," I smile brightly. "Gryffindor Captain and Keeper. Do you like quidditch? Oh, and it's Jo by the way, not Joanna."

[Ricky Jamison]

"Ok, Jo, yes I do like quidditch. In fact, I like to play Keeper too"

[Joanna Miller]

I smile. "So...um..."
