Trap

[Gideon Prewett]

"I asked you a question! And unless you want to get put away for murder, I suggest you answer me! What happened?" I say, taking a step forward, wand trained on her still, then I see the body.
Heightington?
I lower my wand arm immediately, then crouch by the body, turning it over, to check it was him, knowing I should keep my attention on the girl, but too preoccupied to care.
I stare at the body.
Heightington was dead.
My would-be murderer was dead.
I look at the girl and say in an entirely different and all together softer tone, "What happened?"

[Thorn R.]

I couldnt stop crying. "H-he Ki-" I couldn't even say it. I broke down again when I almost had ahold of myself.

[Gideon Prewett]

I creep over to the girl, putting a reassuring hand on her back. "It's alright. I get it." I say quietly.
I wanted to know who he'd killed, but it could wait now I knew she was in the right here.
"Just take a deep breath, okay?"

[Thorn R.]

I closed my eyes and tried to blink back my tears. I forced myself to look at the body. 'He should have suffered more' I thought to myself and looked away from it again.

[Gideon Prewett]

"What's your name?" I ask her, determined to stop her from looking at the body again. "I'm Gideon. Gideon Prewett. How about you, huh?"

[Thorn R.]

"Th-thorn" I choked out. I looked at him and before I started to sob again I wrapped my arms around his neck and cried into shoulder. I didn't care that I didn't know who he was, I didn't want to be alone at the moment.

[Gideon Prewett]

"It's alright-...It's alright-..." I say, hugging her back, not caring who she was, just that she needed help.
I did this far too often.

[Thorn R.]

I sat up and wiped my eyes. "He killed my fiance" I said finally. I flinched at the words.

[Gideon Prewett]

I stiffen and let go of her, looking at Heightington. "He killed me and my brother." I say under my breath. "I lost everything."
I look at her. "You're in no trouble for this, okay? I'm going to help you out of this. He deserved what he got. He deserved it a hundred time's over."

[Thorn R.]

I stiffined. "Oh my god" I said queitly and put my hand over my mouth. Realization of everything just hit me, I was starting to hyperventalate again. "i'm going to azkaban" I wispered my eyes wide. I stood up and walked to the edge. I was debating to jump or not. I didn't have anything left for me, the only person I loved was gone. 'It might be a relief' I thought to myself. I looked down, suprisingly Volkarics body was no where to be found.

[Gideon Prewett]

"No, not that." I say, quickly, walking over to her, and moving to stand in between her and the window. "And you're not going to Azkaban. He deserved what he got. I'll tell them that."

[Thorn R.]

I closed my eyes. "I don't have anything left here" I said queitly. "There is no reason why I shouldn't jump" I opened my eyes to look at him. I had to look up. I sighed, did I have to be so short?

[Gideon Prewett]

"No, there is. Please. Life is always worth living. There's always something." I say to her, not making a move to stop her from jumping, there was no point in stopping someone, they had to be persuased out of it. "Take it from someone who knows, life is always worth clinging to. Even if there's no place left for you anymore." I say quietly.

[Thorn R.]

"Why" I said with tears in my eyes. It isn't that I wanted to die, but people wanted to kill me, my fiance was gone, and it wasn't like I had any CLOSE friends.

[Gideon Prewett]

"Because life is a gift. It's more than some people have and we should be grateful. If you were facing off against Heightington, you could have died. You didn't. You're alive. You must be alive for a reason. You're supposed to be. So, how about you come away from that window, and talk to me?"

[Thorn R.]

"I don't even know you" I said queitly "What would we talk about?" He was making sense, and I liked that he was trying to help me. "And what if he isn't really even dead" I said doubting that someone as evil as him could ever really be killed.

[Gideon Prewett]

"You could talk to me about anything. Anything you want. I'll try and make it easier. I'll try as hard as I can. And he's dead. He's gone. No one survives that curse. Look," I back slowly over to his corpse, not taking my eyes off her, bending down and holding up his wrist, feeling for a pulse. "Nothing. He's gone. Long gone."

[Thorn R.]

I sighed and walked over to him. "You promise?" I ask looking down at the body. something felt off.

[Gideon Prewett]

"I promise, look," I beckon for her to bend down next to me and lead her hand to his wrist to feel his pulse. "Nothing."

[Thorn R.]

I sighed with relief.

[Gideon Prewett]

"Feel like telling me what happened, Thorn?" I ask gently.

[Thorn R.]

I shook my head. "i don't get it" I looked around. "what was he doing here?" I sighed. "All I can tell you is that I came up here to be by myself and I saw Him" I pointed to Jerami "Hex Volkaric and push him over the ledge" I looked at him. "but volkaircs body isn't down there"

[Gideon Prewett]

"Who's Volkaric?" I ask softly.

[Thorn R.]

"He is my Fiance" I stopped. "Well was..." I said sadly.

[Gideon Prewett]

I put a hand on her shoulder, not really sure what to say.

[Thorn R.]

I backed away from his hand. "No offense, I'm just not really into people touching me" I gave him a weak smile.

[Gideon Prewett]

"Sorry-...my bad-...I have a habit of doing stupid things." I say quietly, returning my gaze to Heightington, turning him over so neither of us would have to look at him.

[Thorn R.]

I sighed. "It's alright, just for futur reference" I looked at him. "Unless I hug you or something" I said trying to brighten up the mood.

[Gideon Prewett]

I smile. "Then I have permission to hug you back, do I?"

[Thorn R.]

I forced a smile. "I suppose so" I looked back at the body. It started to change "what the hell?" I ask standing up and backing away from it.
