I sat on the couch with Remus, both sets of parents were there, they knew something was happening. "Mom....Dad..." I started.
"Oh my god you're pregnant." My father said right off the bat. My eyes widen and my mouth opened. "Kidding what's the news?"
"Um dad that was it." I say shocked and looked over to Remus.

"What?" Dad asked. "You got my baby girl pregnant?" He glared at Remus.
"It's kinda both our fault." I say.
"I'm gonna be a grandmother?" Mom says with a smile. "Great dear now we have to prepare for the wedding....."
"Oh you are getting married to her if you like it or not." Dad pointed at Remus. I let out a little laugh.

"I very much like the idea of marrying her, thank you Mr Lattimer." I smile anxiously, glancing over at my own parents.
My mum looks shocked but pleased.
My dad...
"Son, a word, now. Private." He says, tone and expression unreadable.
"Er...okay." I say, not meeting anyone's eyes and following him out of the room and into the kitchen.

"You guys should get married soon as possible." Mom says.
"I think you're right on that one mom."
"So you're happy right?" Dad asks.
"I'm more than happy." I smile. "This kid was made by love." I hug my stomach.

He looks at me, in a disappointed kind of way.
"Hello?" I say anxiously.
"Sit down, Remus." He says, tiredly, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You remember your lyca-..."
"No dad, it somehow slipped my mind." I say sarcastically.
He shot me a 'no need for that tone' look. "You remember what happened-..."
"No dad, it somehow slipped my mind." I say again, with equal sarcasm but more bitterness.
"Remus, you're taking a huge risk-..."
"You think it happened on purpose?" I say in a low voice.
"Not at all, but I think you should have been more careful."
"Well it's too late for that now, isn't it?"
"Remus, need I remind you-..."
"No, you needn't. I know all that anyway. I go over and over and over it in my head. You don't need to remind me about Anna." I growl, knowing exactly what he was going to say. "It was two years ago. I know now." I take a deep breath. "Nothing like that is ever going to happen again, I swear."
"This is for your own sake, Remus. This whole conversation-..."
"Has done nothing but serve as an unpleasant reminder of my past mistakes. Gee, thanks dad."
"No need for that tone."
"Of course." I stand up and head back into the other room and sit down again, smiling once more.

"Lenny?" Mom asks.
"New name." I reply.
"Oh, so as we were saying you two should get married soon."

"We could either use the church or the orchard." Mom says. "Orchard would cost nothing and it is quite romantic because the flowers are all in bloom."

"Sounds fine to me." I say, slightly distractedly because of the expression on dad's face as he stood in the doorway.
"You two haven't been arguing again, have you?" Mum sighs.
"Neither of us are children." Dad says, crossing the room to sit next to her.

"It's not that at all, Rin." Dad says, shooting me a dark look. "I hadn't planned on being a grand parent quite so soon, although I'm sure it will be a pleasant endeavour. Remus knows exactly where my concern lies."
I resist the urge to get up and hit him, hard, only because he's my father.

"As you say his 'condition' am I correct?" I ask, but carry on talking, "I know about that and I know that won't stop me from loving him or his child. Doesn't matter if this child does carry on that gene because, this child has a mother and father that will love them no matter what and we will take care of them if they get hurt and help them get through it."
