Kaleb wandered around in the one place he hated most. The Ministry. He sighed, pulling out a cigarette, looking around in his pocket for his lighter, before recalling the conversation he had at the lake a few days earlier. "I really needed that too." He mutters, putting the cigarette back into the pack. He continued down the long dark hall, not sure exactly where he was. Glancing up he sees 'Committee For The Disposal Of Dangerous Creatures' Kaleb lets a small laugh escape his lips, Jack would have loved it here. He was after all going around poking dangerous creatures in the forehead.

Luke balanced another file carefully on the top of the pile he was carrying, heading down the hallway. His eyes flickered briefly to the dangerous creature office but it held no interest for him so his gaze just skated over it and the guy standing around outside. He gave him a descreet look, cautious and measuring, wondering why someone he'd never seen before would be around here, but then decided he didn't really care all that much anyway. He sees the lift doors open and quickens his pace slightly, but they start to close again, "Oi! Hold the door!" He yelled but no one did. "Fuckers," He murmured as the lift sank down to a different floor, the slight draft from this sending a few papers flying from the file on the top of his bundle of card and paper. He turned back to look at it, unable to pick it up, then whistled slightly to get the other guys attention, nodding at the sheet of paper, "Give a guy a hand?"

Glancing down at the sheet of paper, Kaleb bends down pickign it up and walks over, putting it back on the stack he was already holding. "Lot of paperwork," Kaleb notes, ingoring the voice in his head, pulling out a cigarette and lighting up."Guessing you work around here, huh?"

"Thanks," He inclined his head in a very slight nod, despite the misgivings and paranoia he had about exposing his neck to anyone, friend or foe. Just another form of neurosis that would always stick with him. "Hell of a lot," He agreed, hoisting the papers up slightly to get a better grip on the pile, "Yeah, work a couple of floors down. One of the few in at the moment so this isn't even my paperwork to do." He glanced at him, then down the empty corridor and to the office behind him, "You waiting for a hearing or something?"

"Someone just dumped that on you huh?" He chuckles weakly, blowing some in the opposite direction. Kaleb shook his head. Him? Here for a hearing? Not in a million years, he'd usually never even step place inside the Ministry. Then why are you here now? comes the snide little remark in the back of his head. "Just wandering really."

"A lot of the other fuckers in my department are either ill or on leave or missing," He nodded, "Sucks for me, I guess."
Understatement of the century, Luke.
He found it very hard to concentrate without the menial chatter from other cubicles. Gabriel was off helping his cousin or something so he couldn't even argue with him. And Dawson and both Leone's hadn't showed up for work in days, and they were the only other aurors he interacted with. "Just wandering huh?" He repeated, raising an eyebrow. He didn't like how long it had taken him to answer, and it wasn't usual for people to just wander around the ministry. No one in their right mind would do that. And these were dark times for strangers to be wandering around government buildings.

"Missing? Doesn't that worry you?" Kaleb asks, raising an eyebrow. They're trained aurors Kaleb. They'll be fine. Dogs of the Ministry, remember? He nods, taking another drag from his cigarette."Yeah, just wandering. Seeing if anything's changed." Oh of course, how could we forget? You were a dog once too. That was years ago. Doesn't change the fact you were one. "Surprised there aren't more people running around, with the war going on and all."
