I nod. "It's pretty hard to grow out of... especially if you're surrounded by people who tell you it's the right way to be. There's probably still hope though, if he's out of school now and the rest of you don't hold to that."

I nod, noting the excessive denial. Way to give the guy something else to worry about.
"Well, if he's not that bad, I'm sure he'll come around," I shrug. "And even if he is worse than you think... believe me, there's hope."
Reminded why I came here, I glance up and down the corridor again before I remember that it really makes no difference since I don't know where to go.

I nod back, realizing that the conversation is pretty much dead and turning away to try and figure out... how to leave the building, really, since there's nothing for me here.
I turn back again abruptly. "Hey... have you ever... whether at school or since... had any reason to speak to Professor Dumbledore?" I ask. "And is he pretty approachable?"
