Peter blinked. "No, I didn't."

I glance sideways at him, "Sorry, that was a really twisted thing to say."

Peter shrugged. "Whatever, kind of a cool statistic to know."

"I guess," I half-shrug.

Peter smiled slightly. "So....I'm gonna be a dad. Again. I don't remember if I've told you or not."

"No, you didn't. Congratulations."

"Thank you. And yeah, it is with the same girl I'm marrying now. Just to clear it up."

"Oh...yeah, clears it up a bit. Do you know what it is yet?"

Peter grinned widely. "It's a boy, Bryan."

I grin slightly, "Nice."

Peter nodded. "Yeah, finally a son."

"Yeah...you have two daughters already, don't you?"
|

|

"Yup yup. And kind of a third.... my fiancee's exboyfriends daughter, who's my daughters' birthmum's sister's daughter too..... and for a while there I was taking care of my godson and his little brother, while their mum was ... away...but now they're back with her!"

"Okay, the last part made some sort of vague sense to me but the first bit...well, nevermind."

Peter laughed slightly. "Yeah...my family's kind of messed up...but one of my best friends, the sister of the mother of my children, Yumi, her and Fay's daughter Mia was going to be my now fiancee's stepdaughter, except then Fay died, so she isn't, but she still comes to visit me and Hannah quite a bit, and Hannah's like a second mum to her... and then one of my best friends Molly, she's got two sons, and she .... erm, well, she died, but she wasn't really dead, ya know? And in her will she left her boys to my care, because I'm Bill's goddad."

"I've just realised how lucky I am that my family makes some sort of sense to me..."

Peter laughed. "Rather lucky. I have all these foster-sister type figures, so it gets rather confusing."
|

"Yeah, I only have one sister type, so it's not that confusing for me," I laugh slightly.

"No thanks, mine's enough trouble, you can keep yours."

"Damn!" he joked, "Want any kids?"

"I'm back to half at the moment."

"Ahh, the half children...and you actually have to be there for the bad part....I missed the first two, and two thirds of the third. Congratulations, though, on the kid. Boy or girl?"
|
|
|
Post by Ian Hunt on Oct 25, 2007 21:48:58 GMT
"Yeah, I missed it the first one, but now the first one's..." I stop, unwilling to finish the sentence and hoping he'd know what I meant, "I think it's a boy, I'm not sure, we don't really talk about it."

"Yeah," I smile slightly, "That'd be good. If he takes after me he'll need all the friends he can get."

"Pretty anti-social," I laugh, "But thanks anyway."
