I started a job at the ice cream shop. I've seen customers come and go. Now a group of rude Slytherins enter the shop. The shop keeper is nice to them and tells me the serve them. Then suddenly an ice cream cone hits me. Right on the side of my head. Did I mention I hate my job?

I walk into Florean Fortescue's ice cream parlour just in time to see a group of rude Slytherins throw an ice cream cone at the young girl's head.
Now, okay, I wasn't one for tremendous chivalry or bravery but I wouldn't stand by and let a group of Slytherins who thought they were better than everyone else by being needlessly rude.
The poor girl was just trying to work.
"Hey!" I say angrily, walking up to the gang.

I look around to see Remus. "Hello, how can I help you?" I ask. Before he can answer, I drag him away from the Slytherins to the back room. I try to comb out the ice cream before looking at him. "Thank you." I say softly. I wipe my hands on my apron and start to go back to the Slytherins.

"It's my job. My really bad job." I hear the Slytherins yelling for their waitress. "I have to go and take care of the brats, but your ice cream is on the house."

"No, I'll pay, don't worry." I smile warmly, then my smile turning slightly stony as one of the Slytherins starts positively bellowing for the waitress. "I would really rather like to talk to them about the way they speak to people."

"Rin!" My manager yells.
"Yes sir?"
"Those boys are yelling for you."
"I'm coming." I mutter under my breath. "Don't worry the ice cream is on me Remus, I won't take no for an answer." I say taking my order pad out. "Wish me luck or no ice cream." I walk out and start to take their order when a hand is placed on my butt. I slap it away, but it's there again and it squeezes my butt. I let out a yell.

I smile softly at Rin as she leaves.
I sigh softly.
She was very pretty, and she always seemed to be kind to me as well...if I didn't no better I'd say I liked an awful lot.
Wait, why did I know better?
I didn't.
I shook my head and dismissed the thought.
Then I hear a yell from where Rin is with the Slytherins.
I make my way out quickly towards her and see the Slytherins being absolute pigs.
"Hey - get off her!" I say loudly, making my way over to them.

I smile to see Remus coming over to save me. Wait I shouldn't have to be saved. I'm a big girl, but it was still sweet. The Slytherins stood up. I felt bad. It was four against one. I didn't like that. "What are you going to do Lupin?" One of the boys asked.

I held my serving tray tightly. I didn't want a scene. I bit my lip and looked at Remus then the group of Slytherins.

One of the Slytherins is making his way over to me.
I'm suddenly regretting starting this in the first place, but then I see Rin, biting her lip nervously, clutching the tray to her chest.
And I see one of the Slytherins eyeing her up again and my fists clench by my sides.

Remus looks angry. A slytherin is looking at me. I look over to Molly. She looks uneasy about this too. This was going to end badly.

I take another look at Molly and Rin.
Two friends, who meant a lot to me, were looking very uneasy by my behaviour.
I shifted around guiltily, then say quietly to the Slytherin. "Forget it."
I'd backed down.
I'd backed down for Rin and Molly's sake.
Next move was up to him and if he decided to take it further I could safely say it wasn't my fault.
Although I really wanted to say something to him, not anything in particular, just something to convey my undisguised hatred and disgust at his behaviour.

Remus stepped back. The Slytherin next to me smirked and grabbed my waist. I suddenly whacked him in the head with my serving tray. "You don't get to touch me." I yelled at him. The other Slytherins glare at me and one grabs my arm tightly. I struggle against it.

I hit out at the Slytherin gripping Rin's arms, shoving him away hard, so he tumbled backwards over the table.
The others turn to me livid.
"Um...Time to run to the back room, I think." I mumble, grabbing Rin's hand and running back into the store room we'd been in a little while before.

As Remus grabs my hand I grab Molly's hand and we run to the back room. I started laugh. It was very interesting that just happen. Molly and Remus both give me odd looks.
"Rin!" The manager yells.
"I'm sorry they were being disgusting." I said softly. "I'm so fired now aren't I?"
"Yes you're fired," he yelled. Then he smiled, "For the day. Go the back door would you. Next time you bring your boyfriend make sure he's in check." He says coldly.

'Oh, Moony's got a girlfriend', 'How did she sustain the brain damage to go out with you?'" I say, imagining the never-ending torment they'd put me through.
But they were my friends.
I'd find a way to get them back.
