Lay of the land

[Gabriella Silfrey]

Gabriella, walked into the Leaky Cauldron from the Diagon Alley entrance. She'd been told they had rooms for rent here and if there meeting with father didn't go as planned they would need other lodgings. She understood that they could room with the Malfoy's, but that many dark wizards in one house provided very little privacy. No, best to stay away from prying eyes.

She'd left William to his shopping and had come straight here. She knew to look in the closest apothecary or book store to find him if she needed him.

She walked up to the counter looking for the owner of this place.

i was sitting at the counter reading a book when i noticed someone who looked like they where looking for someone "excuse me can i help you" i say

Gabby smiles politely at the young lady, “Ah, yes I’m wondering who the owner is, I’m interested in staying here.”

[Ellie Green]

" his names tom, i think hes in the back getting something" i say

[Gabriella Silfrey]

Gabby's smile deflates slightly, "Oh, well. I'll just wait then." She walks up to the bar stool next to Ellie and brushes it off before sitting on it. She takes off her gloves and gets comfortable, crossing her ankles she looks over at Ellie, "It's a quaint little place. What do you recommend to eat here? I've heard the food is very different from where I live."

i shrug " ive never eaten here" i say " i just come here to get away from home" i add "were do you live" i ask

[Gabriella Silfrey]

"I'm from Italy. Oh where are my manners, my name is Gabriella Silfrey?" She says extending her hand for a handshake. "And your name is?"

[Ellie Green]

i shake her hand "Ellie Green but you can call me Ell if you feel like it" i say "whats Italy like"

[Gabriella Silfrey]

Gabby nods, "Well Ell you may call me Gabby then. Most everyone does. Italy is hot right now. It is much cooler here which is nice. So Ell what are you reading?"

[Ellie Green]

i nod "Love Potions Gone Bad by Erwin Hecklefritz IV" i say "i love his name it makes me laugh"i say

Gabby chuckled, "Yes, it is amusing. I would hate to be one of the subjects for his books. Can you imagine it. Your love potion hitting some ugly man or worse maybe a hag."

[Ellie Green]

"that would be horrable" i say "ive read another book by him called the Dangers of Polyjuicing"

[Gabriella Silfrey]

Gabby blinks a few times at this, "Actually I've heard of that one. My brother sets it out everytime I ask him to make polyjuice potion for me. I'll have to ask him if we have the love potion ones at home now."

[Ellie Green]

i tilt my head "why would you need a polyjuice potion" i ask ciriuosly

[Gabriella Silfrey]

Gabby shrugged, "I used to be an Auror for the Italian Ministry of Magic. Not to get into specific cases, but every now and then we had to infiltrate certain groups. Some would use it for stake outs too. It looks suspicious if the same people are watching a place."

[Ellie Green]

"you used to be an auror" i say "thats very cool" i say grinning

[Gabriella Silfrey]

Gabby nods a fond, far off look in her eye, "It was very challenging; but I got tired of the politics. The Italian Ministry is very traditional. Everyone is in some else's pocket, plus they are all prideful men, very different from here."

She shrugged a smile coming back to her face, "So Eli you are going to Hogwarts correct? How is it there? I have heard many great things about that school."

I came up to two people one looks like she goes to hogwarts and the other one looked older "Hello sorry for the wait my name is Sora and I'll be getting anything you need today" I say handing both of them a minue.

Gabby took the offered menu, "Oh thank you. I was wondering how much your rooms are per night. Also what do you suggest."

She looked over the menu as she waited for her answer... Bacon Butty, Chip Butty, Crisp Sandwich, Bangers and Mash, fish and chips, steak and Kidney pie, Shepard's pie, Yorkshire pudding. She vaguely remembered not liking the last one as a child. She was hungry maybe a dessert instead, her eyes widened as she read one item in particular... Spotted Dick. What on earth was that?

((ooc I can't make this up.. really I can't. I went to look for some british pub cuisine.. and this came up along with the other things. I want to go to england and order it now.))

"I'll go ask Tom about the rooms for you mam, and the shepard's pie is good today. I'll be right back" I say walking to the back.

" hogwarts is great" i say " its really beautiful "i look at the menu "hmm... i wonder what this stuff is like ive never had any of it before" i say

[Gabriella Silfrey]

Gabby points to the safest thing on the menu, "She said the shepard's pie is good, but I think I'll have this fish and chips. It's just battered fish and fried potatoes if I remember correctly. What are you thinking of getting?"

" i think ill have Crisp Sandwich it sounds crunchy" i say " i wonder whats in it"

I came back and said "Tom will be here in a couple of minutes he's just finishing some things, are you two ready to order?"

[Gabriella Silfrey]

Gabby nodded, "Yes, I'll have the Fish and Chips and she'll have the crisp sandwich, one bill please. May I get some extra tartar sauce for mine, as well?"

She turned to Eli, "I hope you don't mind me paying?"

I nodded and said "I'll get it to you in a bit" and walked to the kitchen.
