"We were arguing over something on the boat and then we fell out only to start fighting in the water." He laughs at the memory.

[Arden Patricks]

"And that made you friends?" I ask skeptically. "Helluva how-we-met story though."

[Jack Tucker]

"Er..not really sure what made us friends, don't remember. He probably does," He chuckles,"Yeah, I know."

[Arden Patricks]

I nod, biting my lip slightly. "Hm... I don't remember how Logan and I got to be friends, either...." I say thoughtfully. "Maybe I should ask him, not that it's likely he remembers."

[Jack Tucker]

"Logan?" He asks, raising an eyebrown,"Logan Andrews?"

[Arden Patricks]

I freeze. Dammit, Arden! You've learned not to mention his name to people!
"Er... no," I say squeakily, avoiding his eyes as I start to think about exits. "Common name..."

[Jack Tucker]

"I knew a Logan Andrews a long time ago," He says, watching her carefully,"Pretty okay guy, bit..off."

[Arden Patricks]

"You don't have the problem with him that everyone else seems to?" I ask cautiously, not willing to be relieved yet.

[Jack Tucker]

He shrugs,"Haven't seen him in a long time, last I heard he was dead."

[Arden Patricks]

I shake my head. "Nope, not dead. That... that was his brother," I swallow hard to make it past the feeling of sickness. And it was his fault, if you believe most people. Killed his own brother....

[Jack Tucker]

"Oh god, that was Will?" He aks,"Wow, that's..wow."

[Arden Patricks]

"Yeah... decent guy, Will," I nod. "So... you knew them all? When?" I ask, frowning.

[Jack Tucker]

He grins slightly,"Our families go way back, knew them when they were real little, bet they don't even remember me,"

[Arden Patricks]

"Hm..." I say, frowning. "I don't remember you either, and I grew up around them... but then again I don't remember how old I was when we met them." I shrug.

[Jack Tucker]

"Yeah, that was ages ago though, back when he, Chris and Maddie were like six or seven."

[Arden Patricks]

"Ah," I nod. "I probably didn't know them then...." Then I frown. "If your families go way back... how is yours all in gryffindor?" I ask, shrugging. "I thought they were all typical pureblood gits convinced of their own superiority."

[Jack Tucker]

Jack laughs somewhat bitterly,"Fucking stero-type. Not all pure bloods are stuck up gits you know."

[Arden Patricks]

"Thank you... I figured that out when I looked in the mirror," I say dryly. "The Hunt and Andrews families were, though, I thought. The parents, I mean, not our friends." I shrug.

[Jack Tucker]

"Yeah, as are the Malfoys, Blacks and Lestranges," He remarks,"Just 'cos they are doesn't mean everyone else it."

[Arden Patricks]

"I know," I say again, sighing. "I'm still having a little trouble with the some-slythies-are-decent concept, but I'm perfectly aware that not all purebloods are gits. If so... well... I don't know. Apparently I did not have a complete thought there." I shrug.

[Jack Tucker]

"Yeah, it's hard to believe some Snakey's aren't all cruel heartless bastards, and that some pure bloods get along with half bloods and muggle borns."

[Arden Patricks]

"Mmm... blood traitors and all, gotta love them," I nod, then say slowly, "And a slythy saved my life once. Told me that I didn't want to kill myself, and I guess I wound up believing him. I still can't quite get that settled in my head though... still automatically hate any new snakes I meet." I shrug. "Really should stop that, I guess, but it's hard to throw off years of conditioning after one incident."

[Jack Tucker]

"Ha, tell that to my Aunt Viv and she'll die of a heart attack, fucking hag." Jack mumbles sourly."Yeah, like I said, not all Snakes are bad,"

[Arden Patricks]

"Your aunt Viv doesn't agree with that?" I ask, raising my eyebrows. "Something tells me you don't like her very much."

[Jack Tucker]

"Fucking hag, got that right. Woman has her nose so far stuck up her ass." He grumbles,"She's like the rest of the pure bloods, thinking muggle borns and half bloods are a 'disgrace'."

[Arden Patricks]

"Disgrace, are they?" I ask, raising my eyebrows again. Then I shrug. "Well, at least they're not inbred like the rest of us."

[Jack Tucker]

"Her words not mine. Hag should have kicked the bucket bout three hundred yearss back." He grumbles.

[Arden Patricks]

I laugh. "Unless she has a sorceror's stone, wouldn't that mean that her ancestors were never born? And then wouldn't you and the rest of your family also not exist? Careful what you wish for, you know." I shrug. "You should tell her that, though. That purebloods are inbred. Works wonders at family gatherings."

[Jack Tucker]

"Hm, I should say that, just to piss her off."

[Arden Patricks]

"Excellent idea, as long as there aren't any repercussions," I nod.
