"You're allergic to those," Meredith plucked a packet of sweets out of the growing pile of sweets in her son's arms and put them back on the shelf. "Only a little bit," He protested, reaching for them again and nearly dropping a couple more packets, "And it's so worth it..." "I'm not taking you to Mungo's and explaining that I let you eat something you're allergic to because it would be 'so worth it'-..." She got distracted, picking up another packet and looking at him disapprovingly, "Samuel, honestly, that's pure sugar, you can't eat that." "Mu-um..." He groaned. "No, Sam. You have enough there now," She put a hand on the small of his back, guiding him lightly towards the counter, then stopping and picking up a familar packet, "What did I say about these?" "You won't take me to Mungo's with an allergic reaction?" He supplied sheepishly. She sighed, "Go and put them back..." He shot her a moody look, then headed back across the shop to replace them. Meredith put a hand to her forehead, allowing a small sigh to escape her lips. Taking a seven year old boy into a sweet shop was just a big mistake. A very big one.

"Aunt Maddie can I get one of these?" "If Emma gets one I get one!" "Now I don't want it." "Can I still get it then?" I sigh, keeping hold off my niece and nephew. Keria had shoved me out of the house and told me to 'spend some time with them.' "Guys, come on. No fighting." I mutter, pulling them apart. Trying to separate two five year olds in a candy store when your four months pregnant with twins is not an easy task. "Emma, Tyler. Enough." I mumble then gasp as the baby's kick."You two are not helping." I mutter under my breath.

"Yes, enough!" Sam agreed crossly from behind the woman, putting his hands on his hips and pulling a stern face. "Samuel," Meredith hissed, dropping what she was holding and darting over to where he was standing, putting her hand on his collar and steering him away, "Do not undermine peoples authority, I've told you-..." She stopped, and glanced up at the woman who seemed to be having a lot of trouble, "Sorry about him, do you need any help?"

Tyler cranes his neck back, looking at the other boy, sticking his tongue out at him. "It's fine," I mutter, pulling the twins apart,"These two are the same way." I mutter, blowing my bangs from my face,"Kids are really a handful huh?"

Sam sticks his tongue out back at the boy, putting his hands on his ears and splaying his fingers. Meredith shot him a look and he shrunk back slightly, so he was out of his mothers line of vision and pulled the face again. "A handful, but worth it," She agreed, putting the forefinger of one hand up behind her back at her son in a gesture of warning that he knew meant 'enough'. "Are they yours? You look a little young."

"Oh no." I mutter,"Not mine. My cousin's. Stuck on baby-sitting duty. Says it'll be good practice for when I have my own." I mutter, gesturing down to my stomach,"Twin gene, what can I say?"

She smiled, "Bit of practice never goes amiss." She glanced at her stomach briefly and smiled at her, "Congratulations, do you know what they are yet?" "Mu-um...you're so nosy..." Sam mumbled, tugging on her hand.

"Yeah, they say third times the charm right?" I smile weakly,"Yeah, two boys."

She smiled, "Ah boys, know what that's like," She brushed the hair back off Sam's forehead, "Got two myself." "One," Sam beamed, "That's me, that is." "Two," She said, with a smile, "Just this one's the only biological one. Not sure which is more trouble, mind. Two boys the same age though...very brave to cope," She laughed lightly.

"I'm a lion, bravery comes naturally," I smile weakly, letting Emma and Tyler wander around but keeping an eye on them,"Besides, everyone keeps telling me kids are worth it, time to stop moping and get happy right?" I force a weak smile,"Single mum, these two are going to be all I've got."

"Ah, lucky you then," She smiled, "They are worth it," She concedes, "Not that it makes your first any easier." Then her smile softened, "Single mum, same here. It's hard, but it gets easier. Sam's dad died before he was born."

"Yeah, and seeing as the first is going to be twins, gonna need all the luck I can get," I smile weakly,"Same with these two," I say. He's as good as dead anyway. I tuck a strand of hair back behind my ear,"Just realized I don't know your name, and you don't know mine." I laugh weakly,"I'm Maddie, Maddie Speare."

"I'm sorry," She smiled weakly, then laughed slightly, "I'm Meredith, call me Mez, and this is Sam."

"Those two demons over there are Emma and Tyler," I laugh, nodding in the twins directions. "Glad to meet you,"

"You too," She smiled warmly. "Hi," Sam beams at the Emma and Tyler.

"Guessing you graduated seeing as you've got a child," I note, watching as the twins try to shove each other out the way to greet Sam."Times like these I'm glad I'm not a twin," I mutter, pulling them apart.

"That's right. I'm very old now," She laughed, "Graduated raven." She smiled slightly, at the twins behaviour. Despite the age gap Sam and Chris could be just the same. This amused her without a doubt, but she decided it wasn't appropriate to laugh. "I wish I was a twin," Sam grins, laughing at Emma and Tyler.

"I didn't say that," I grin weakly."Ah, a Raven? My cousin's one of those," I smile, then blow my bangs from my face, pulling the twins apart."Knock it off you two," I mumble. "Want him?" Emma asks, shoving Tyler forward. He stumbles slightly, then turns to stick his tongue out at her.
