"Hm.....I dunno....we could look around Knocturn Alley?"

I force a laugh. "Knockturn Alley? I said snakes, not death eaters." I take a bite of chocolate to try and calm myself down. "And in that case... it isn't really fair to pick on slythies just because they're slythies."

I laughed slightly. "Fine....let's go pick on someone who deserves it!"

"Got anyone in mind?" I ask, thinking of all the people I'd like to curse. "I mean... other than death eaters, because my family will reverse-haunt me if I do anything stupid."

"Revers-haunt?" I asked, confused.

|

"Well, yeah... because they can't exactly haunt me if I'm the one who's dead... and they can't exactly kill me if I'm already did. I was just trying to emphasize how angry they will be if I go chasing after death eaters." I take another bite of chocolate.

"Oh. Okay."

"They won't even let me join the Order." I shrug. "So... who did you have in mind then? Who should we go torment?"

"Um...." I shrugged. "I dunno, I'm pretty much happy with everyone."

"Mm... damn. Go find someone to be angry at, then, Petey. Or, better yet, tell me how you've been. What's been going on. I haven't talked to any of you people in... ages."

"Um...well one of my dearest friends Molly Prewett was killed and I inherited her sons."

I stare at him a moment, mouth hanging open, and then sit down heavily in the middle of the high street. "That's terrible..."

I laughed slightly. "Yeah. But no need to get yourself run over for it."

I arch an eyebrow at him. "Run over by what? This isn't the muggle world." And I stay where I am. "How in the hell can you laugh?"
|
|
|

I looked around. "Oh. Right. And I can laugh because I have to. I can't get upset everytime I think of the many people who I love who have died, because I'd never stop."

I sigh. "Yeah, I guess." I say, staying on the ground but smiling slightly. "So... what else is up? Anything remotely cheerful?"

"Um... not really?"

"Oh, damn." I look down at the ground. "So how're your kids? Heard you have some."

"Four, now that Molly's died. And they're good. My girls' aunt is coming to live with us soon, with her kids, so that'll be two teenagers and at least six kids in my house."

I raise my eyebrows. "Wow. That... will be interesting." I smile slightly. "If you ever need any help... I've had lots of practice with Angie. Not so good at changing diapers and such, but I can keep them entertained if you need to go lie down and die or... anything." I shrug.

I laughed slightly. "Thanks, I might take you up on that sometime. And Angie who?"

"Oh..." I smile. "Angela. My two-year-old sister." My smile slips away as I remember she's an orphan now. "In hiding like the rest of my siblings," I mutter, then shake my head. "Has it really been that long since we've talked? Can't be."

I grimaced. "I'm so sorry."

I shake my head, smiling sadly. "For the fact that we Fosters somehow managed to piss off his worshipfulness?" I ask, meaning the Dark 'Lord.' "Or for being so busy that we haven't talked in years?"

"That you haven't seen your sister." I said softly.

I shrug and look down at the ground again. "Well, at least she's all right. She and my big brother Andrew, the bachelor slob... and Ariel the crazy, pregnant prankster... and her poor, horribly confuzzled Muggle husband...." I smile more and more as I list them off, then surprise myself by laughing. "Oh... boy... that must be a joy." I grin as I wipe tears from my eyes.

I laughed slightly. "So why aren't you in hiding too?"

|

I shrug. "Well, kind of a mixture of things really. I can take care of myself better than anyone but Andrew at the moment... and of course he's stuck looking after them. And I guess they figured Hogwarts would be just as safe as wherever they are."
((Okay, so it's not a very good explanation.... Andra was supposed to be with them but I liked the character too much.))

I nodded. "Makes sense, I guess."
<<lol, that's okay, Charly/Lin's supposed to be dead as are Amy and Sarah>>

I shrug. "So... now that we're agreed that this stupid war sucks.... What now?"
((Funny how often people pop back to life around here, isn't it?))
