"What can I say, I'm a Ravenclaw." She grins, taking another sip from her coffee."Heard a lot about you Ian, glad to finally match your name to your face."

"Oh," I say, at the comment of hearing a lot about me, "Sorry then."

"Don't be, Maddie talks very highly of you, it's pretty obivious she loves you Ian."

"Oh, well, that's good then..." I say, not sure how I was supposed to respond to that.

"Do you love her?" Rory asks, she knew that some people in the family had their doubts about the two of them.

"Yes," I reply, without having to think about it but hesitating anyway, just in case it was a trick question.

"That's good," She smiles,"She says you two fight a lot, god knows we're all amazed you've managed to put up with that load mouth."

"Yeah, you and me both," I grin weakly.

"Hope she's not too annoying," She laughs.

"No, she's not," I laugh slightly, shaking my head.

"Well that's a first," She grins,"Do you have any ideas how many times we had to lock her in the hall closet for her to shut up?"

"I have some idea, well going by the times I've been tempted to at least."

"Just threaten her with a lobster, that always use to work," She laughs.

My throat tightens slightly, "Was wondering where she got the lobster thing from," I manage after a moment, trying very hard not to think about Poppy and how Maddie had put an irrational fear of lobsters into her head.

"Probably Davey, god knows what a good story teller that guy was, god rest his soul."

"Yeah, heard about Davey before," I nod, deciding not to say I'm sorry or any of the stupid things like that people rarely want to hear.

"He was a good guy, know Charlie took it pretty hard."

"Hmm," I say after a moment, forcing myself not to comment on Charlie at all and trying hard not to sympathise with him for losing a brother at all, having now lost two myself.

Rory glances out the window, putting her chin in her hand."Looks like it'll start snowing anyday now. Can't believe it's almost December."

"Your a fan of winter I'm guessing?"

"No, just get bored very quickly. Snow's different."

"Your one that enjoys the change of seasons I'm guessing?" She asks raising an eyebrow,"I prefer spring over winter. Not a fan of snow or the cold."

"I just have a short attention span," I reply with a shrug, "How come? Most people like snow, I've noticed."

"Does it really matter what weather it is though? Cos it doesn't last all that long but it'll come back around so..." I shrug.

"Suppose it doesn't matter," She says,"But winter is for some people, not for me."

"Guess so," I shrug.
