"There, you see?" I laugh. "You try to hurt others and they hurt you in return. Have we learned a little lesson today about messing with the minds of small children?"

Peter sighed. "Yeeees."

I laugh. "And aren't you going to be happier if your kids grow up to not be axe-murderers?" I ask.

Peter sighed. "I gueeeess.."

I laugh again. "Eh, don't worry Peter... you can teach them to eat the hearts of their enemies... just not until they're eight, okay?"

Peter laughed. "YES! I can corrupt my kids!"

"It's good that you've got your priorities straight," I nod.

Peter laughed. "Yay me and my awesome parenting skills."

"Hm." I shake my head disapprovingly, then shrug. "Well... you haven't dropped any of them, right?"

He laughed. "No, I have not dropped my children. I haven't sold their souls or promised them to a creepy stalker nieghbor witch in exchange for food, either."

"Well that's good," I nod, frowning slightly. "That was also very... specific. Have there been offers to buy their souls or something?"

Peter laughed. "Nope, but those were the last two stories I read to them. Well, Annie made up the one about selling their souls to the devil when she was babysitting the night before last, and I read them Rapunzel last night."

"Ooh..." I nod. "I always liked that story better than any other muggle fairy tale. Way to scare your kids though, Peter."

Peter laughed. "I loved that and Rumplestiltskin..." (sp, lmao?)

Post by Alexandra Foster on Oct 19, 2007 0:11:28 GMT
"Yeah, that one's pretty good," I nod, after pausing to remember which one it is. "The reason that I liked Rapunzel though is that in most fairy tales the prince and princess live happily ever after when they've known each other maybe a day... and in that one, she and the prince were friends for months before they did anything." I pause. "At least in the version I heard. How come you like Rumpelstiltskin?"
((Does it matter?))

Peter laughed. "That's why I like Rapunzel too. And I like Rumplestiltskin because of all the little animals that help the chick."
Post by Alexandra Foster on Oct 19, 2007 0:23:11 GMT
"Oh... I don't remember any animals." I frown. "Then again I haven't heard or read most of those stories since I was nine."

Peter laughed slightly. "All the animals came and helped - oh no wait, that was Cinderella. RIGHT! Rumplesiltskin was the one with the miller's daughter-turned queen and the little person was the dude whose name she had to guess."

"Ah, yes," I nod. "I didn't think that there were animals in that one. Hated Cinderella 'cause it all seemed rather stupid." I smile slightly, remembering how I'd argued with my dad over that one for hours.

Peter laughed. "Aren't they all, though?"

"No..." I say slowly. "Many of them have good morals. And a lot of them are pretty well-written."

Peter laughed slightly. "Exactly. Boring."

"Morals aren't boring!" I protest, whapping him on the arm. "Not all of them anyway."

Peter grinned widely. "Yup!" he siad brightly.

He chuckled. "Nope! See, regret just complicates everything!"
Post by Alexandra Foster on Nov 6, 2007 20:45:09 GMT
"Or makes you a better person," I say, shaking my head. "Either one." I pause. "But I suppose that being a good person is complicated anyway."
Post by Peter Pettigrew on Nov 6, 2007 23:47:12 GMT
Peter laughed slightly. "Yes, yes it is. I've tried being a good person, and it is way too complicated. So I am now just me. Just me." he repeated the last two words quieter, looking down with a wistful look upon his face.
