Ahh potions. I sigh to myself as I open the familiar door to the dark and damp dungeon. I pick a spot at the front of the class, and open my books. I look over my shoulder, wondering where the professor could be.

I walk into the class room. Nobody is here except for...well i dunno who he is. But, I'll go sit with him. "Hi' i said brightly. 'Im Serenity Smith.'

I walk into the classroom, I had double potions today. I spot two people at the front of the class, "Oh, hi Serry." I smile at her, "G'day Severus." I smile at him as well, I don't really know him all that much, except that James and Sirius are always picking on him. Sometimes I wonder if anyone in my family is good.

I looked over and saw Andromeda. 'Hey Andy!' I beamed. 'This is Severus?? Hmm i never knew that.' I smiled and laughed at myself

Andy? Never had a nickname before, "So, I stay up last night to finish my essay, it's still not done."I look over to Severus, he really needed to see that all people weren't that bad.

I hear it everyday. Everyone complains about potions, never finishing, never understanding, failing marks. I just don't get it. 'Maybe if you started it sooner, or paid attention in class instead of talking about boys..' I mumble to myself. Potions was easy for me. It's the one class where I can work alone, not having to talk to anyone.

"This one I reply." I look at Severus,"You know Slughorn won't punish you for talking. Class doesn't start for another fifteen minutes." I smile at him, "Severus, we won't bite." I say hoping he gets that I was trying to be nice.

I hear Severus mumbling under his breathe, "Excuse me, but I don't talk about boys. Potions is my best subject, and I have other classes too. Besides, it's not due until the end of the period." I really didn't want to sound rude, but when someone says something bad about me and grades and not getting stuff, it pisses me off. Maybe even more than my family.

I turn to my papers, determined not to look up for the rest of class. 'This is why you don't talk to people' I remind myself. I always had a way with hurting others. I never mean to.

"Hey Rin!" I say smiling at her, class was about to start, I made my way back to Severus. The desk next to him was open and I figured he didn't want James or Sirius trying to sit near him and hex him. "Hi Severus, do you mind if I sit here?" I ask.

Me and Serry sit in front of Andromeda and Serverus. I sit sideways to talk silently to Serry and Andy. That's when a paper airplane landed on my desk.

I started drawing and it was about Slughorn drowning in the lake. I laughed silently. Why cant we get a different teacher? i looked to the back of the room and through the drawing to Andy. Ohh now hes blind. I laughed silently and turned back around

I smile at Severus and place my books down infront of me along with my eleven page essay, I began to work on the last page. "Thanks." I tell Severus as I began writing down the rest of my essay.
