"Wow, that's got to be a first. Usually we have a million things to say to each other." I laugh slightly.
{haha, oh wow, yeah do that! XD}

"Usually?" I raise my eyebrows. "What's 'usually' when we haven't talked in five years?" I take a sip of butterbeer and think. "Well... we always liked to have imaginary battles between manticores and dragons... chimaeras and basilisks. Remember that? I swear you always cheated."
((Hmm... yeah, I think I will. But I should probably modify that post so it remains a surprise. Muahahahaha!))

"Well, usually when we were 12 and before," I smile, "You know what I meant, you're just being padantic. Yeah, I remember," I laugh slightly, "I probably did cheat. I'm like that, I guess."
{lol yeah.}

I shake my head. "Tsk tsk... always saying that your manticore was stronger than my dragon... and then hexing me when I protested," I add, mock-glaring at him. "Pedantic's a pretty big word coming from you."

"Yeah, well I never hexed you that badly," I grin, "I know, I've got a vocabulary now. Amazing, huh?"

"Very. You find that on your travels? Maybe... did you even read a book?" I ask in a hushed voice. "And yeah, I know... but I was littler than you... it still wasn't nice."
((God... I actually had to look that up. I knew the gist of it, but not enough to explain it properly.))

"Yeah, I've been travelling with a walking dictionary. Remember Chris and Rowan? Yeah, them. Chris being the dictionary of course. Never understood how someone so stupid knows so many big words," I laugh slightly, But books, no of course not. No, it wasn't nice. Just one of the many things you have hopefully forgiven me for."
{lol, congratulations XD}

"Yeah," I grin. "I never could stay mad at you, remember? I had to barricade myself in the house once because I knew that if I saw you, you would make me laugh and then the fight would be over." I shrug and then think hard. "Chris... Chris and Rowan.... Oh yeah, I remember them." I pause. "Rowan never liked me, if I recall. Thought I was a tagalong. And Chris... always sided with Will, didn't he?"
((This isn't godmoding, is it? I mean you do have the option of saying I'm wrong....))

Post by Logan Andrews on Sept 9, 2007 20:40:01 GMT
"Oh yeah, I remember that. I think I stood outside your house and laughed because you wouldn't see me for ages." I grin, "No, I don't think Rowan liked you...but I don't think he actually liked anyone besides his brother at that point. And yeah, Chris always sided with Will, quick temper, set things on fire a lot."
{Nah, not Godmoding. We're both contributing a fabrication of our characters pasts and other characters pasts...but oh well.}

"Yeah..." I nod. "The fire thing was cool." I take a sip of butterbeer and grin. "Then you and my brother got into that fight... he was hexing you from the window... and so I walked up behind him and pushed him out, then flipped my head and walked on without even looking at you." I laugh. "And I don't even remember what you did."
((Dammit... I think I named her brother Chris.... How's Fitzgerald Maximilian instead?))

"Oh, I remember that," I grin, "And I laughed even harder when he fell out the window, I think I stood there all day. Must have been pretty bad for you to ignore me for a whole day."
{Fitzgerald Maximillian? Er...interesting...}

"Yeah..." I bite my thumbtip trying to think of it. "Hmm... you didn't kill my cat or something, did you? I seem to remember something like that. Hung him in a tree? That wouldn't have been you though...." I shrug. "But then Fitzy got back at me for pushing him out the window... and I think that was the grubs. So I forgave you for whatever it was."
((Well, Arden's a pretty weird name... why not? If you want you can come up with an embarrassingly weird middle name for her.))

I scratch the back of my head thoughtfully, "The cat thing might have been me actually. I just didn't know it was your cat. We thought we'd freak out vistors by hanging dead animals in a tree, kind of backfired. Yeah, I don't like your brother. He's an ass."
{yeah, true. I'll think about that...}

I give him an incredulous look. "Believe me, you knew that it was my cat if it was you...." I frown. "No, that would've been the time I tried to beat you up... and Will, I think it was, stopped you from hurting me too bad." Then I laugh. "Wow... cheerful children, weren't we?"

Post by Logan Andrews on Sept 9, 2007 21:16:36 GMT
"I don't remember, maybe the dead animal thing was somewhere else." I shrug, "Oh yeah, I remember that too. I wouldn't mean to hurt you, just kinda lose control sometimes." Then laugh, "Oh yeah, lovely childhood. Completely fucked up, but lovely all the same."

"Well... we turned out all right anyway... at least I did." I shrug. "And no... I do remember that.... Maybe you didn't actually kill my cat... my lovely, fluffy white kitty named Killer... but you definitely threatened to. And yeah... I know you wouldn't normally have hurt me... caught you off guard with that attack is all, and I guess you got carried away." I shake my head. "But at least we all turned out all right... more or less." I finish off my butterbeer.

"Yeah, I threaten a lot of things. All talk mostly," I laugh slightly, then my smile falters, "Yeah, got carried away, guess so. Well, I don't think we all turned out alright, did we?" I say, then ask after a moment, "How do you feel about the whole death eater movement?"

I freeze slightly, suddenly on guard. Not a pleasant question... and why phrase it that way? "I don't know..." I say carefully. "They... they wanted me to join up, you know...." And then I got disowned 'cause I refused. But why is Logan asking? I can't quite meet his eyes or even look up at him, terrified suddenly that my childhood protector is one of them. But are they that bad?

I notice how on guard she is suddenly and decide it's probably not the best time to admit to it, "I'm just asking cos...well, most of us turned out to join them, you know?"

I nod. "I guess, with our parents...." Us? I swallow nervously and give a shaky smile. Not you, though, right? And will my perception of you change if you say yes?

"Yeah, kind of hard not to turn out that way, I guess," I say carefully, regretting broaching the subject.

Yeah, kind of hard... unless you're human, says the bitter voice in my head, before I remind it that I nearly did the same thing. I shake my head and finally look up. "Are you one?" I ask outright, thinking about dead cats hanging in trees, and grubs in Fitzy's mouth.... Well, duh, Arden, really. You've been dancing all around the subject this whole time. How can it surprise you if he says yes?

I look at her a moment and blink. I hadn't expected her to come right out and ask, and maybe if she hadn't I could have left it at that. Couldn't lie directly to her face though. Not to Arden. I roll up my sleeve, showing her the dark mark briefly, "One of the best."

I stare at the Dark Mark for several moments without blinking, and don't even notice until I feel my teeth chattering. Eyes wide, I stand up shakily. "I... I have to go," I say, still staring at his arm and backing up until I run into a table, at which point I finally meet his eyes. Mine don't seem to be working right, however, and I can't tell if he's angry... hurt... amused... surprised.... Not Logan... not him too.... Not Logan....

"Arden...Arden...please," I say standing, a hint of desperation in my voice, half taking a step towards her but thinking better of it, "I would never hurt you..."

I shake my head. And what about other people? But I don't want to know the answer to that. I hate people like him.... But not him... right? Then I look around the bar and notice a few curious glances. You're going to get him caught. I smile vaguely and then leave without looking at Logan again. Still shaking, I lean against the wall outside, trying to think.

"What?" I snap irritably at the people still looking, before sitting heavily back down again. Smooth, Logan, smooth...

Are you really so surprised? Yes I am and I don't like it. I feel like that image has been burned into my brain… Logan’s arm with that disgusting tattoo.... I shake my head and decide to get as far away from here as possible. What? You're scared of Logan now? I think about that question for a moment, looking back at the Three Broomsticks. Hell yes. And I continue on my way back up to the castle.
