Slowly, I trudged up the steps and into the Owlery. I had specially bought treats for Anahel.
"Hey girl." I called into the room, walking over and petting her lightly on the head.

I laughed and patted Anahel on the head, holding a treat in my hand. She picked it up in her beak and ate it, all without so much as a nip at my finger.
"What did you do to provoke her?" I asked skeptically, pricking up one of my eyebrows.

"Ju Ju?" I asked, holding my arm up to Anahel could perch on top of it.
I patted her again and gave her another treat. She seemed pretty harmless to me. Well, that was probably because I was her owner.
