Angel looks around the room in wonder. She'd never seen something like this before. All she was doing was pacing and thinking about something and this door showed up! Angel had never seen anything like it. "I wonder what I can do here," she asked herself. "Oh great, now I'm talking to myself!" She laughed slightly before walking around and figuring out what there was in this place.

"It can be anything you want it to be." I say from the doorway. "Anything you need. The room will change to suit you." I shrug. "At least that's what I was told. It doesn't quite work." Because the one thing I need is the one thing I can't have.

Angel jumped when she heard someone behind her. "Why doesn't it work?" She asked. "I'm Angel by the way."

"Because the one thing I need is the one thing I can't have." I half-laugh. "Nice to meet you Angel. Name's Ian."

"Nice to meet you," Angel smiles. "Would you mind me asking what it is you want but can't have? If you don't want to tell me it's fine."

"My redemption." I gave a sadistic little laugh. "But that's not going to happen."

"Well, new and brighter subject?" Angel asked, trying to get his mind off of it. "Want to sit down?"

I shrug, a little taken aback. "If you wish to suffer my presence."

"Suffer your presence? On the contrary, I would enjoy a little company," Angel smiles warmly. She sits down on one of the chairs. "Are you going to sit or not?"

"Sure." I shrug, sitting down opposite her.

"So... basic info. I know your name so age, house, relationship, and anything else you wanna answer," Angel smiles again.

"17. Slytherin. Relationships - I'll let you know when I figure that one out. And you?"

"17, Hufflepuff," Angel shudders. "Wrong house," she mutters to herself.

"Trust me, you don't wanna know. Oh well! Can't live in the past!" Angel smiles. "So... anything else you want to know about me? I'll be completely honest, I swear!"

"Fair enough. You can ask though, I don't want you to feel awkward around me!" Angel smiled again. "What are your music interests?"

"Led Zeppelin, The Ramones, Iron Maiden, The Clash...that sort of thing. How about you?"

"A mixture of different things really. Your turn to think of a question," Angel said.

I thought for a moment, then asked the question that helped me figure people out. "If you could change one thing and only one thing about your past, would you?"

"Tough question. Bit sudden really," Angel smiled. "Well, I would like to change that I left the room when my parents died. But thinking about it, that would change who I am and I wouldn't be here. So I guess not. This sounds really stupid, but I believe everything happens for a reason and it happened so there's no point in changing it. Does that make sense?" Angel asked.

I allow myself a small smile. "I say the exact same thing when I'm asked that."

"Yeah. There's things I know would make me happier if I changed them. If I took my fathers gun before he got a chance to splatter his brains all over the wall, I'd have never been adopted when I was 6, I'd have never had a brother to get killed by my own stupidity, I'd never have had to leave home, and I'd never have met, and lost, Erin. I'd be an awful lot happier if none of those things had ever happened. But I wouldn't me then, so if I changed them-...I'd be a stranger."

"Wow, you just completely opened up to me and I haven't told you anything," Angel said in a shocked voice. "I would say sorry and I know how you feel, but that never makes people feel better. In some cases it makes people feel worse!" Angel said. "I wish it didn't happen to you though, but like you said, you wouldn't be you."

"It's just a load of shit that happened." I shrug. "It's not really opening up. I tried to keep those things secret when I first got here, but then Rowan, my brother, found me. And people found out-...and we damn near killed each other." I half-laugh. "I won."
