"Well...not so sure about that..." Andy grinned slightly, attempting to steer the conversation back to lighter conversation so that maybe his twin's jaw would unlock enough for him to even pretend to smile a little.

I twitch a slight smile, heart still racing in fear enough to make me jittery. You want the good guys to win, but for many of the bad guys not to get hurt. Can't have it both ways, Arden.

"Well, the fun in this conversation has gone down the toilet!" Andy exclaimed after a moment or so.

"Mm... that can happen when confronted with reality," I mutter, then try to think of something else to talk about. "Um... you said you have siblings here?"

"Damn that reality," Andy sighed, then smiled lightly, "Uh-huh. Our family has a multiple birth gene or something cos there's us and then the triplets, Benjy, Angey and Sophie. They're 15, all different houses. Do you have any siblings?" He asked.

"Ah... er, yes," I say, suddenly remembering that he's a death eater too... and that, much as I dislike him, I don't think he deserves what he might get, either. "Um... so what houses are they in then?" I ask. "Any Hufflepuffs?"

"Uh..." Andy glanced at his brother, "I'm not-..." "Ben's a Gryffindor, Angey's a Ravenclaw, Sophie's a Hufflepuff," Ethan answered for him.

"No Slytherins," I nod. "That's interesting. And good." I look over at Andy. "You don't know what houses your own siblings are in?" I ask with a slight grin.

"Our Dad was a Slytherin," Ethan shrugged. "Death Eater too," Andy added and pulled a face, "Our other Dad's much nicer." Then he grinned, "I do know...I just forgot that's all..." He laughed.

I laugh weakly. "Well, that's impressive," I say, wanting to ask more about the 'other dad' thing but not wanting to be nosy.

"I thought so too..." Andy grinned, then caught sight of his brothers facial expression and said innocently, "What?" "Other dad? People don't know what you mean when you say that," Ethan shook his head slowly, "You really are stupid." "Yes," Andy grinned back, then said to Arden, "Our other dad...the guy with the same surname as us who thinks he's our dad, that's our other dad. Our real dad is the Slytherin dude that we don't know cos our mum's a whore," He explained brightly. Ethan shook his head again, muttering to himself, "Stupidity is bliss, obviously."

"Oh... I see," I nod, fighting back a smile at Ethan's reaction to his brother. "You two really remind me of some friends of mine... how do you keep from murdering each other?" I ask casually. "Or... you from murdering him, more like?" I nod from Ethan over to Andy.

"Too young to go to Azkaban," Ethan explained, "Otherwise he'd be dead in a heartbeat." "In other words he loves me to death and would be lost without me," Andy laughed.

I grin after faltering slightly over the Azkaban reference. "I see... that's very sweet of you, Ethan, sparing him like that."

Ethan doesn't comment on the slight falter, realising it had been the wrong referance to make only after he'd said it. Andy didn't notice at all, "Yeah, right sweet guy he is," He chuckled slightly, nodding at Ethan, voice dripping with sarcasm.

"It's his job. We're a team," Andy grinned, "Plus we've been together so long it'd be weird not putting up with each other anymore." "We've been together too long," Ethan agreed, "Since birth...til now...that's 29 years, maybe minus a week or just under, which is the collective amount of hours we've spent apart from each other and that's a very long time we've been putting up with each other."

"Wow..." I raise my eyebrows. "That's..." Impressive? Painful if you ever want to start families or anything? Really really weird? "I can't imagine spending that much time with anyone," I say instead.

"No...it's not something many people can do...or would want to do..." Ethan nodded. "It's also a really really weird way to spend your life," Andy added, laughing.

I nod. "So why do it? I mean... why'd you never break away from each other or something? Just get used to it?"

They both half glanced at each other, contemplating the reply. "Well...we kinda balance each other out, you know? He has serious issues with other people," Andy nodded at Ethan. "And he has serious issues with himself," Ethan finished, inclining his head at Andy, "We need each other to keep each other in line." "It's an us against everyone else kind of thing, you know?" Andy added as an after thought.

"I guess so..." I nod. "You keep him from disappearing, and he keeps you from launching yourself off a cliff because it might be fun?" I ask, addressing the question to Andy.

"I think maybe every group of friends, the kind that stick together anyway, have to be somewhat like that," I nod. "It's the similar ones that can drive each other crazier."

"Yeah, it's like a puzzle. You can't put together a puzzle made up of identical pieces, trust me I've tried, you can only put together puzzles made up of different pieces," Andy grinned. Ethan nodded slightly, then decided to add, "The sad thing is, he actually has tried to put together a puzzle made up of identical pieces."

I laugh silently behind a hand, and shake my head. "And where did you even find a puzzle like that?"

|

"He found two of the same puzzle, then went out and brought a load more of the same puzzle, threw away most of the pieces and kept the identical ones," Ethan said, trying hard to keep a straight face. "Yeah, that's what I spent my life doing. Then Thanny and Kaleb the pleb got back and I convinced them to help me with the puzzle and then they realised that all the pieces were the same," Andy laughed.

"I wish we were," Ethan replied honestly. "Yup, it's a true story," Andy beamed, "I did it more for a laugh than anything though. I'm not retarded, much anyway."

I nod, taking a deep breath. "Well... that's somewhat a relief, thanks." I smile slightly. "You graduated, though?"
