Angel sat in the library with her favorite book in front of her. She read through the first couple of pages without getting into it, but as the third chapter drew near she could feel herself drawn into a whole new place. On a whole new planet! There were no longer her troubles, just the ones inside the book. She was so into it that she didn't realize someone else had come into the library...

I walk into the library, brushing tears from my eyes.
I hated crying.
I hated people seeing me cry.
I hated Ian for making me cry.
Stupid bastard.
I see a girl at a table and hastily duck into an aisle.
Like I said, I hated people seeing me cry.
I didn't understand how he could say that...why he would say those things...
I punch a shelf in front of me in frustration, then grimace in pain.

Angel jumped when she heard a bang come from behind her. She walks around one of the shelves and see's a girl standing there. There are tears in her eyes. "Are you okay? What happened?" Angel asked worriedly.

"6 months ago. It was 6 months ago." I say after a moment. "We'd-...we'd been together a year. And these people-...these people are after him. He'd never tell me why or anything about them, just that they wanted to hurt him and anyone who was close to him so it might be easier and safer if I just left him alone. But-...I didn't. Sometimes we'd have to run from people asking about him, but we always got away. They found me, when I was on my own, and they told me he was sick and he needed to come home and that he was running because he didn't want to go home, that I needed to help them catch him again. I'm not stupid. I knew he wasn't-...sick. I told them that and I tried to leave, but they said-...I needed to help them anyway, and they were going to kill me and my family-...I just agreed. They didn't tell me what I had to do, I swear they didn't-...just that I had to pretend that no one had been in contact with me. So I did. And we-...were out-...just walking and they were there again, and they were closing in-...and-...and they killed me." My hands start to shake. "Well, not killed me. He thought they'd killed me, but they made me-...they made me fake my own death-...in the process-...they killed our baby." I start crying again. "He didn't know I was pregnant, but I don't suppose it matters now. They killed it. And-...and-...I told him everything. He-...He said it was a good thing they killed it-..." I stop talking, shaking my head.
It was stupid to let that get to me so much.
So stupid.

You are giving in to your emotions and if you keep things bottled up then it destroys you," Angel smiled sadly. "If crying is a weakness then I must be the weakest person alive," she adds quietly.
