I nod and do what she says. "This is pretty easy," I tell her and round the last little piece of dough. "Oven next right?"

I wait for about 20 minutes and notice the timer still ticking. "Umm..Alex? How long were those in for?" I ask smelling the smoke.

I panick turning all the knobs to turn the oven off. "Oh my god! Im sorry," I say and pull out the pan of cookies.

I try not to laugh at her. "Here, it's okay calm down..." I say taking the hot tray and putting it in the sink. I look at my kids expressions, and can't help but smile. "It's okay, I'm gonna make some more..."

I laugh slightly. "I'm sorry kids," I say to them. I nod and watch Shell make the cookies.

A few minutes later, I take them out of the oven and put them on a plate. "Here you go, they're hot..." I say warning them.
